Pay more to stay down the street.
Usually we stay in the same hotel chain if they are in the area we’re going. We were in town late and getting up early and I didn’t think it was worth the big rate difference just to get some sleep and have a quick breakfast but I was wrong. When you pushed the button to start the shower it still ran out of the tap. It also didn’t drain. I didn’t realize that until it was covering my feet. There was still some trash in the bathroom trash can when we got there. The side table had hair in it and the ice bucket was stained and dirty and there were no bags for it or in the garbage cans. The breakfast was just awful. No batter for the waffles. Stale cereal and scones. Runny oatmeal. All the eggs had what I am assuming was peppers and onions so he wouldn’t eat them. They were labeled egg white frittatas but they were yellow. The sausage was undercooked. We had a wake up call and no one ever called. There was no one at the desk when we went to check out. There were also some questionable stains through the room. The floor was the worst. It was rated as excellent which helped me make the decision to stay there but I will not use that as the sole reason I choose a hotel in the future.
