I was extremely unhappy at being asked to leave the top floor communal area while working on my laptop in the early morning. I urgently needed somewhere quiet to review a contract, and two staff members were sent to remove me in a quite officious manner in the middle of me doing this. This was allegedly due to a lack of electricity in the kitchen, but they then explained the real reason was that they had no staff on the top floor, and that the bar was unattended, the implication being that I could not be trusted. As a regular customer and responsible business executive I found their approach heavy handed and disrespectful, as well as totally unnecessary. This spoilt an otherwise pleasant visit.

The building design and decor is good and well laid out, the bedroom was comfy, well lit and clean no milk in bedrooms and non inclusion of breakfast was a bit of a shock however, but otherwise it was a nice modern hotel.

£12 for parking 12hrs is just stupid and should be in the room rate. Kids menu has no vegetables or fruit options. Charcuterie board was awful - no cheese, watery tapenade, and not really a sharing size with 2 small slices of bread. Check-in was awfully slow with a queue of 15-20 people and only 2 check-in staff. Rooms were comfy, but AC stopped working about 2am so room quickly became very hot - possibly linked to wider electric fault that meant breakfast served in the lounge bar not the restaurant. Better breakfasts in a Wetherspoons or premier inn… gym is good, but changing rooms currently out of operation, with no notice… heard other guests grumbling and complaining too.

Have been here before and was good as expected. Sunday breakfast was a bit chaotic perhaps due to a large number of guests. Breakfast itself was tasty, although a mark is lost for no black pudding :-) On departure, I asked when rooms became available for summer '26. Hot room

Excellent staff with a great attitude but the room was lacking. AC not working, no opening windows and the tea cups were extremely small with no fresh milk. We were given a disability room which isn’t an issue, but for anyone disabled or able bodied, the room was stiffling and stuffy.
