Loved our three day stay at the Zeal hotel. Rooms were lovely, huge comfy beds, lovely and clean and everything you needed right there. Staff were also very helpful and restaurant food delicious. Had a lovely peaceful visit would recommend.

The hotel was lovely staff very friendly and helpful. Free hot drinks available 24hrs and water. Our first time taking our new puppy on holiday so pet friendly also which was great for us with the children also. The breakfast buffet was amazing lots of choice available. Our children didn’t make it down for breakfast as was by 10am. But the staff game us a takeaway box to put a croissant in each for them so was really nice. There was entertainment on the terrace music playing which was lovely get DJ. Will definitely be back to the hotel Thankyou so much to all the staff they work so hard all day long making sure everyone is happy! Regards Kristine Swanson

Excellent brand new hotel

Lovely brand new hotel. Comfortable bed, well thought through room with full length mirror, plenty of storage and the mirror in the bathroom doesn’t fog when you’ve had a shower. Little things like that make a big difference. I really like the eco friendly focus and it was totally fine to walk to the water, tea and coffee station on the floor. Staff were more than helpful, and the hotel was beautifully clean. Water pressure could be better.

Mixed feelings about this place

Brand new hotel. Parking full so had to park in an bay for electric cars. Excellent staff at check-in. No tea/coffee/water facilities in room, they're all available on the landing... Err this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel... Small room but surprisingly cool despite the hot weather outside. The beds were fitted with winter duvets so thick you couldn't sleep and when removing the duvet from its cover, then it was too cold. You cannot control your room temperature yourself apparently. Makes absolutely no sense. Breakfast ok but deffo not worth the £20 they're asking for it. I wouldn't stay here again unless they made it possible to control the room temperature from your own room.

Disappointing Service Overshadowed an Otherwise Lo

The hotel itself is lovely — clean, comfortable, and well-presented. Unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations, with the exception of one helpful staff member I dealt with during my stay. While the food quality was generally good, any attempt to give feedback was either ignored or met with defensiveness, as though raising a concern was unacceptable. For instance, we were given incorrect information about breakfast times and arrived at 10:05am on our first day, only to find it had closed at 10am. The only response from staff was a dismissive suggestion to “try somewhere else” — no offer of a takeaway option like a pastry or coffee, which would have been a simple gesture. Dinner was also disappointing — the dish we ordered was incredibly salty and completely inedible. When raised, it was merely acknowledged with a shrug from the chef and no offer of a discount or resolution. Again, the underlying tone was defensive rather than solution-focused. Service should be about listening to and valuing guests’ experiences. Sadly, at this hotel, that attitude seems to be lacking. Given that I frequently use IHG hotels for work travel, this experience has been eye-opening, and I’ll be rethinking our company’s use of this particular location moving forward.
