We were disappointed with the shuttle service upon arrival from the railway depot to the hotel as we waited over an hour to be brought to the hotel. Drinks at the bar were uninspired. Breakfast was in a beautiful room, but food was likewise mediocre. Best feature of our stay was the Aurora theater where we saw an excellent video on the Northern Lights and were also able to shoot a game of pool. Also, our Fireside Cabin was pretty cool.

We stayed in one of the older buildings because we had a dog with us. I gave the property a 3 on cleanliness because that building and our room both smelled. I think someone had smoked in the room a few guests before us. The main buildings is nice with no smell. If we had stayed in a room I would have rated the property higher. The property is dog-friendly but they have specific first-level rooms in the older buildings reserved for guests with dogs. There is a very small dog park and nice pathways to walk your dog around.

The property was amazing. The staff, with the exception of one person on the front desk, was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. No complaints there. The was on young lady that was on duty during our check in that was very rude. For instance, when we asked for the easiest way to walk along the river, she thrust a map at my wife and said “Here”. No other response. My sister in law got a similar response later when she went to ask a question. Other than one rude employee, we had a great stay and would recommend this location for anyone staying in Fairbanks.
