The hotel was quaint and not particularly updated and that was its charm. It sits in a one road down town area with a few cute shops and a couple places to eat and drink. The proprietor, Kat, was lovely and remembered my name through the evening and was very accommodating. If you are looking for a rustic mountain hotel, this is your place.

We had a very pleasant stay. The room is in antique setup, but met our expectation. The breakfast was really good, really enjoy there. If are looking for TV etc. , this is not for you.

What a wonderful b&b. The staff, the breakfast spread, the bed…. So good! The hotel is old and with that comes history, ghosts, old things as decorations. It was a great stay.

What an adorable place! We loved the history, the views from the back deck, and the common seating areas are just beautiful. Staff was friendly and full of information. I hope to stay there again!

Enjoyed the property and the location. The property manager was helpful and made the stay a more positive experience. Breakfast was tasty. The hotel is supposedly haunted but did not have any sort of paranormal experience. Would recommend.

This is a lovely, small historic hotel in downtown Fairplay. Nice sitting areas in the lobby, garden room, upstairs, and outside on the deck with a view of the small lake and mountains. Rooms are very homey with different themes and decor to match. We stayed in the “Nature” room. Small gift shop next to lobby. Great breakfast with variety of hot and cold items, including fresh fruit, omelets and homemade blueberry bread. Friendly and helpful staff.

Hidden Gem
Very nice place with a long history! Love the healthy choices of breakfast. Very clean room and bathroom. Only thing with me is the elevation of the hotel that is 10,000 feet high. We didn't realize the place was at that much high elevation... I have Afib, so, we had to hurry to leave the hotel next morning. Must visit the sunroom with very old plants still blooming beautifully!

I loved the ease of booking and the fact the hotel is not right on the highway. It's located on the quaint Main Street of Fairplay. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and the breakfast was much more than I had expected. I will definitely return during my travels.

A really nice hotel with beautiful views of the mountains and the small lake from their outdoor deck. Fantastic friendly staff and very dog friendly too. The complimentary breakfast was great with a good selection of hot and cold items. This is a small hotel with only 11 rooms plus a suite. All rooms are themed and we were in the cool Native American room. As stipulated online, there are no tv’s in the rooms in keeping with the original ambience of the hotel. There is WiFi should you wish to use a tablet. Close proximity to bars and restaurants, keep in mind Fairplay is a small town. A must is spending a couple of hours going around the South Park City museum, literally a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at this hotel and would highly recommend staying there.

History and character are important to us. Great, friendly, informative staff. Good breakfast and coffee. Renovated hotel retained a good vibe of old fashioned style. Located short walk from amazing river and old town. Good spirits and shopping local. Wonderful plants. if you’re expecting chain hotel, this place is not for you, and you don’t belong here. Already planning a return visit.

We were really nervous driving in the dark to get to the hotel and then we got a phone call from the hotel letting us know how to check in when we arrived and that really eased our nerves and her voice was very calming and kind so we felt safe and like someone was waiting for us to make sure we were okay when we arrived we would know what to do. There is a sweet breakfast area with a view of the water outside. The main room is cozy and calm. The hotel is located right in the middle of town so everything is easy access and walkable.
