It is not where it says on the map. I turned up expecting to be in actual Banjul but I was somewhere miles away. They didn't have any rooms even though I was booked in. Took me to another place that was nicer but again, not in the location it said.

Tamala has been my preferred hotel in Banjul. I am disappointed to see the state in which it is now. My room was not properly cleaned, lights kept going off, the intercom in my room did not work and on one of the days the internet went off with no explanation from staff.

This is a true gem. The owners were wonderful. They called to check on me and even surprised me with dinner a couple nights (which was amazing). The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well. I will surely stay there again. The WiFi signal was the best I have ever experienced in The Gambia. I highly recommend it. They told me they are opening a restaurant in December which will be great.

A Gem; construction at Kalimba so they rebooked us at the adjacent Kamara resort. Great property: aircon nice and cold, good breakfast offering, tasty food at restaurant. Front desk staff helped in arranging a driver to visit monkey park, crocodile pools, city tour, and car to airport. Would love to go back. Only nit I have is provided toiletries were skimpy
