Disappointing stay
The room was in poor condition with the bathroom sink loose and faulty shower light. Breakfast was a joke with none of the three staff actually giving much thought to the guests. Sadly, it will always have business due to its location right next to the Mariposa grove gate.

Everything was good and excellent location for the train visit. However at breakfast there were no bagels or yoghurts due to the French families taking more than they should and being inconsiderate.

We stayed at the Narrow Gauge Inn after a long day of hiking and exploring Yosemite Park. It's an inn with a long history, and is quite charming. Our view out our back deck was woods, and was serene and beautiful -- great place to enjoy morning coffee in peace, watching the sunrise! We ate supper at the restaurant on the property. Wonderful food, but it was a bit of a splurge cost-wise. Our room was comfortable with a large bathroom and at-the-door parking. I will note, we booked a 2-queen bed room, but the beds seemed to be doubles instead of queens. There was a complimentary continental breakfast consisting of bagels, muffins, yogurt, packages of hard-boiled eggs, and Frosted Flakes. The property is gorgeous, and the location is convenient. I would recommend this inn to family and friends with the understanding that it's a bit on the pricier side, but you're paying for convenience.

A real gem
This is a special place! It was quite a surprise when we pulled in, just to see how charming and magical this property is. The staff was kind and helpful, and our room was so relaxing. It really helped us feel like we were on vacation. And, we ended up eating dinner in the restaurant both nights - the food was fantastic and the service excellent! Would highly recommend the Narrow Gauge Inn!

The property was close to Yosemite entrance and the view from our balcony was great. The restaurant was also delicious. There were no coffee cups in the room and office didn't open until 7. The coffee maker cord was so short, it didn't reach the outlet. The outlet next to the bed was not functioning. The balcony was a great place to hang out, but everything was really dirty and the furniture was in bad shape. The one morning we were still around to get breakfast, there were no napkins per the desk clerk. I would suggest breakfast start sooner for those who want to get into the park earlier. This is a great place that would be so much better with a little more effort.

Love this vintage inn!
I didn’t know there were still cute motel like cabins left in the world! I loved this hotel so much. It was absolutely adorable. The whole property is so charming and reminds me of a little 1950s motel. Please Do not renovate this place! Updated are of course necessary but the whole inn exudes vintage cabin charm and that’s really the biggest draw. I really enjoyed my two day stay. The buffalo bar was really rad as well. The parking and check in was easy and quick. The room was comfortable and the location is very close to Yosemite’s South Gate

Amazing old style cabin with modern amenities! Friendly staff. Great food in restaurant and bar on site. Lovely wooded setting to wake up in the morning. Did need a patch if grass for puppy. Ut she still enjoyed the walks.

A totally lovely place. A little Oasis. Felt very historical and like taking a step back in time. We loved it. Added bonus having the old lumber company straan trains running right next door.

Yosemite trip!
Love how cozy this hotel is and we loved the view from our balcony, very pretty. The room is totally outdated and old. Beds are super uncomfortable and the shower is extremely tiny. I’m 5’2 and it was small for my size. Sink seemed like it moved out of place every time I turn the faucet on. We liked the tv with direct tv. The small coffee maker did not work. The food at the hotel restaurant was very good but super overpriced, very nice service though. Overall we were satisfied and will stay again.

Quaint property with a lovely old fire truck. Just over an hour away from Yosemite valley. Spacious room albeit a bit run down. Good enough for our purposes but a few small minuses: no table in terrace just 4 chairs; ceiling fan felt too wobbly and dangerous to use past the first setting; room not cleaned (may have been policy; did not check if we had to request this); breakfast barebones (just bagel, coffee, yoghurt, packaged fruit salad).

Cute cottage in the mountains, next to a train station within walking distance so we can walk to take the train into the forest. That was fun!
