Very Good

Got in around midnight but after hours instructions were great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Left very early but they had a honor bar to purchase drinks and morning snacks for our drive. Regret not having more time to spend here.
We liked the property and our room after we were able to check in.
But we were confused about the building and how to open the door: we were trying to punch the numbers into the keypad next to the door on the wall, not the one on the door handle.

No signage for the Hotel Post building so it was confusing pulling up and figuring out where to go. There was also mold in the room which was unpleasant and gave off a moldy smell. The staff was overall friendly.

Maybe Check Out Another?
The room we got was a bit odd...it's in the red building next to the main Hotel Blafell and on the first floor behind what used to be the front entrance. It didnt look very maintained and there is a common area upstairs with appliances for making your own meals and heating water for coffee or tea. Other than that convenience, I probably would have booked in the main hotel. The main hotel itself seemed cozy but the sauna that was also available for Hotel Post guests was not working or looked like it was derelict. Overall kinda was a confusing experience.
We arrived late and departed early but our room was very comfortable and well-appointed. Next door Hotel Blafell offers basic breakfast for fee, or you can get coffee and snack at nearby convenience store.
Was a nice place and a clean and comfortable room. Nice location and easy to find. Only troubles -- no check-in information was provided and although the staff was friendly, they did not have breakfast available when we asked - they said we had to give 'warning' and they wouldn't let our kids have the OJ that was out with the coffee.
Cute little guesthouse in the middle of nowhere. Perfect if you are like me and we’re driving the Ring Road. Check in is at their sister hotel next door which conveniently has a restaurant. Considering the location I was worried I wouldn’t find any dinner but was pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious but expensive (as is everything in Iceland). Overall easygoing stay with a great view.
