Lovely stay at the hotel
Very relaxing
Our room was the Oakley suite which I would recommend to a couple looking for a luxurious break
It has stairs with a bathroom at the top so prob not best for anyone with access needs. Staff were lovely and welcoming and the bed was the most comfortable in the world.
Excellent staff...I had an issue with the key for my room getting stuck in the lock.The problem was sorted out swiftly.The shower head was also a little loose.Other than these faults,my stay was a positive experience

When we arrived my husband could not climb the stairs and no lift in the hotel so we were quickly offered a downstairs suite which was a nice size and the bed was so comfortable which was a big thing for us. The receptionist was a very friendly person with a great attitude and very approachable The only niggles we had was not having bedside lamps and no coasters to put our hot drinks in as did not want to mark the furniture. But
not a major problem. This is an old hotel with character and worth a stay
The staff was absolutely wonderful and accomodating. The Breakfast was always fantastic. I would suggest they get a softner for the towels and maybe a face wash cloth. But; that was a minor inconvenience. Also; person booking should validate they got the B&B rate because I got it the 1st week but Expedia didnt add it the 2nd.
The building is very old, with the original rooms quite tired looking. There's no lift and the walk upstairs to the top level was heavy going. The newer part of the hotel is fine, the staff are very nice, the bar area is pleasant and the food is good. Not expensive, so overall good value.
