The staff at Hotel Clarion were extremely helpful and very pleasant—definitely the highlight of my stay. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was disappointing. The building is very old and run down, and while the hallways were generally clean, the overall facility felt dirty and neglected. Outside the hotel, the grounds were cluttered with brush, leaves, and limbs. Inside, the TVs didn’t work, the bathrooms were not clean (including dirty commodes), and there were no real amenities offered. The continental breakfast was very limited. On a positive note, the beds looked comfortable, but overall, I would rate my experience as poor, apart from the excellent staff.

The lobby area was beautiful. The hotel smelled of gas and had a lot of leaking in the ceiling. The first room we were put in the bed had stains and a towel underneath it that was covered in bug carcasses. They gave a different room and it was better just the cleanliness of the bathroom could have been a lot better. The staff was nice and friendly however the price I was given was completely and totally different from what I thought I was going to be paying.

Nightmare on Hatch Rd.

This was a nightmare from check-in to check-out. Customer service was horrid. No greeting or welcome at all. The rooms were horrific. Dirty, moldy and smelly. The bar was never open and the ice machines were all broken. The elevators were both broken, forcing us to lug our luggage up the stairs, which had cigarette butts and spider webs all over it. The outdoor area was unkempt and the grass was about 2 ft. tall. We thought it may have been closed upon arrival I picked up the phone to call the front desk and it didn't work either. The couple I was traveling with had NO microwave or refrigerator. Their AC was so loud it sounded like a jet engine. There were burn holes in my carpet and cellophane wrappers on the floor. The bathroom was filthy and the wallpaper in the hallway was peeling off and dirty. The marijuana smell was wafting down the hallway from God knows where. Upon check-out, we explained to Savannah (the clerk), the issues. She could have cared less. No apology....very uninterested. She promised to email us the invoice and we have yet to receive it 2 days later. To top everything off, we asked for a printed receipt and she promptly told us the printer didn't work (apparently it didn't work either ☺) We checked out a day early and were still charged the full rate for 3 days instead of 2. If this is Clarion's policy, it's horrible. I will never, ever stay in this filthy place again. I can't believe it passed a health and safety inspection.
