Terrible service, agressive, unpolite, disrespectfull. Room and restroom too small. Bad food and beverages. They do not offer parking. Small and terrible acceso to the restaurant and elevator. . I Will never use hotel.Com again.

Perfect Location

The Hotel La Scaletta is the ideal base for a visit to Florence. Only 2 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio in one direction and two minutes to the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens in the other. All the main attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and Baptistry are just a few walk minutes away. Florence is crazy busy but once you step in through the ancient archway to the hotel reception it is an oasis of calm. For our first few night we had a Garden Double Room set in a quiet courtyard and lovely garden. It was so peaceful and yet the hustle and bustle of the Ponte Vecchio was only a few metres away. We returned a few days later after a wedding and found we had been upgraded to a Superior Room on one of the upper floors. The room was delightful with a huge bed and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was good. Buffet-style with the option to eat on the rooftop terrace with amazing panoramic views of Florence. Florence is a really walkable city and there are loads of places to eat, grab a panini or a gelato within a few steps of the hotel. Taxis from Santa Maria Novella Station are plentiful but ranged in price from15 to 30 euros. **Word of warning!** If you use the tram to travel into the city from Florence Airport be on your guard for pickpockets! They target people stressing with suitcases getting onto the trams. They nearly got my husband's wallet! We loved our stay at the Hotel La Scaletta and highly recommend for perfect Florence holiday.

Very good location and easy to get to. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Roof top is great for sunset. Could use a bit more storage like cabinets and the bathroom was very tight (although shower was huge and jetted tub was perfect size). Also we can hear footsteps above us but those are just small things and definitely not a deal breaker. Tall ceilings, and had a mix of modern and vintage feel. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Would definitely come back again. Thank you.

Lovely hotel. Staff were excellent. Great location. Easy to walk to all the attractions but a bit of a bumpy walk to/from the station with a wheels case (cobbles everywhere) so maybe consider the bus or taxi. Quirky layout of hotel so maybe not for people with mobility issues. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel doesn't live up to its Expedia description. It was advertised as a 4-star, but the service, including the staff, was not up to that standard. The sky bar terrace and the breakfast area were also much smaller and less comfortable than they appeared online.
