We arrived at the facility at 2pm and they offered for us to store our luggage which was very kind as our room wouldn’t be ready until 3pm. When we returned, it was very apparent that the room was nothing like any of the photos of the room I paid for. We navigated, with much difficulty the maze of stairs, doors and hallways back to the front desk and kindly asked them if there was a mix up, they said no, this was the Superior Double Bed with a garden view and that there was nothing they could do because they were completely booked. Upon returning to the listing on Expedia I found it was obvious that the room they gave me was the Economy Double Room with a Garden View, a room half the cost of what I paid. The hallways smelled like sewer every time we walked back to our room and the room itself was so empty and dark, it felt ominous. The staff was always kind and helpful, so I feel bad giving them a bad review, but the room was so awful, if I had known there was a possibility of getting a room like that, I never would have stayed there. It was by far the worst place we stayed in Italy. I’m sure the other rooms are nicer. In fact the one next to us was bright and airy and had a window 3 times the size of ours, and the ones in the listing that I paid for were very nice as well, but you do run the risk of getting stuck with a room like we had at this hotel.

We were only stayed for one night, but upon arrival the front desk was very friendly and helpful. They helped us with our luggage to the room (note to future guests, there are quite a few stairs to the rooms). Once in our room it was spacious with a comfortable bed and great view to the garden! We wish we were staying for more nights as this place was in a great location and walkability to pointe vecchio and lots of great shops and restaurants!

Traveled with my daughter our flight was canceled arrived at 1am . Gentlemen at front desk was very kind and took great care of us. Next day another staff member helped me plan a private tour to the countryside . He set us up with Albert Zeka. Went to a beautiful boutique vineyard. Most magical day I have ever experienced. Very lovely hotel. Staff have great communication and were very helpful. The location is amazing, walkable to pretty much anywhere, but slightly out of the heart of the tourist area. The breakfast is very touristy, so I wouldn’t waste your time with that. Mattress was very firm for my liking, but the rooms are beautiful.

The only issue was the layout - it’s an OLD building and each ‘floor’ actually has several levels. We never did find the elevator again to go back down - we had to take the stairs…

I want to give it a top rating BUT, room 107 is next to the cleaning room, so the constant noise going back and forth was a little bothersome especially when one is trying to rest. Not sure if there was construction above the room BUT that was a lot of noise to early in the morning. Lastly, not sure where the odor was generating from BUT, there was. strong odor in the little hallway where room 107 is located. Other than that, HOTEL LA SCALETTA was wonderful.

Lovely hotel, very convenient location with friendly and helpful staff. A few minutes from the Ponte Vecchio on the quiet side of the river and very close to the Palazzo Pitti. Beautiful rooftop dining with amazing sunset views and the food was delicious and quite reasonably priced. Good playlist too. The only downside were the stairs but in a 14/15th century building it was too be expected and I was aware of then before booking.

This hotel is in a wonderful location in Florence. It is just across the Ponte Vecchio bridge— within a 5-10 minute walk to the major centers. The walk was quite lovely and scenic, with views of the water and architecture. It is a little on the quieter side, which my husband and I really enjoyed as Florence is very busy. The check in process was easy and the staff were very friendly. The hotel itself also has great amenities, including a beautiful restaurant, sky bar and gelato shop. We recommend it to anyone staying in Florence!

Everything was good the room size, location, the cleanliness and cleaning staff. HOWEVER a young Italian man (unfortunately I did not get his name) who works in the front desk was very rude both during check in and check out. He spoke and treated me as If I did something wrong to him or as if he had a personal problem with me. Very unprofessional not welcoming at all.The lady at the front was very polite welcoming but that young man needs to be retrained on how to give customer service and treat paying customers with respect. Example: during check out he didnt great me or smile barely made any eye contact with me and asked for the local tax payment. As I pulled out my credit card he very rudely said "you where told the payment had to be in cash...the payment has to be in cash"..he repeated himself three times as if insiuating I didn't have it. I pulled out the money and gave it to him he didn't say thank you it was very insulting. He needs to be retrained or put on the cleaning staff if he hates dealing with happy tourist who come spend money and unwind.

The location is excellent. Easy walking distance to all the tourist attractions and restaurants. The room was immaculate and large. Breakfast was good but they charged for you to fill your water bottle. We would stay at this hotel again when visiting Florence.
