Positive of this property is location. It’s very close to major attractions. Staff is very friendly. Negative is the size of the room and specifically shower. There was barely any room to turn around while standing in the shower. Not sure if all the showers are like that, we were on the first floor. Another issue was noise. There was lot of noise from the outside street and also from the people running inside the building. Air conditioner wasn’t cooling enough, was shutting off every few minutes. Overall, it was a positive experience with some negative.

The staff is very kind. The hotel is older, but very clean. The location is right in the middle of the touristy parts of Florence. The breakfast is basic. We heard no noise the whole time -- it was a peaceful place.

We had an amazing stay! It was incredibly easy to walk anywhere in Florence. The owner Gabrielle was extremely hospitable. The room was small be very comfortable and very clean most importantly the AC worked!! The breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay again!

The location is great. The check in process is very thoughtful and caring as they take time to map your location and points of interest. They really compensate for being a 2 star hotel with their customer service. Being in the historic district, they can’t have modern amenities like an elevator and other conveniences. If you’re staying in the heat of the summer, don’t leave your screenless windows open overnight, the mosquitoes will eat you alive.

We really liked the location; it was quieter and less hectic but still close to all the main sites. The staff were lovely and friendly. The concierge sat down with us when we arrived with a map and showed us where the main attractions and several family style restaurants. The breakfast had many options and all the cappuccino you wanted.

The hotel is a historic building and gives easy access to all the main attractions, restaurants etc. We had great communication from the hotel and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Shower was smaller than usual, but had good water pressure and maintained a stable temperature. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Florence.

Staff are incredibly helpful. Gabriel and Mario do a great job running this hotel. We notified them about a leaking shower hose and it was fixed the same day.

In The Heart of Florence

The owners of this hotel were exceptionally nice. Very warm, helpful, kind. The location is right in the middle of everything. The building is a historic building from the 1400’s Is it a luxury hotel? No, it is a place to sleep and explore from or return to for a nap without having to take a taxi. But the staff made you feel cared for. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the darling annex apartment. Upon check-in, the staff offered a welcome drink, took us outside to point out the notable historical landmarks in the neighborhood, and made us feel at home.
