Affordable, Clean and Great Location

This little apartment was just the right amount of space for our 3 night adventure in Florence. It was nice to relax in the living area at the end of a long day of touring, although it would have been nice to use the TV but no instructions were left to know how to operate it. The kitchen was simply but adequately supplied but we only used it for snacking and wine. The beds seemed too firm but were surprisingly comfortable. Our only complaint was the skylight directly over the beds that had no covering so it was bright. The price is very affordable and the location was perfect; less than a 5 minute walk to the Tram. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotels.com overview suggests contemporary and instead it was basic and industrial with inadequate toiletries and TP. Currently we are paying the same amount for an equivalent stay in Rome. The difference in properties is stark - the PopArtment in Florence did not meet our expectations. Their spacious rooms/apartment for Italy might be too much to keep clean - there were dirty spots in the kitchen, greasy finger prints around door openings and the tile floors were sticky and dusty. A syrupy spill by bedside table could have been there for a while. The hotel management had lots of rules and seemed to operate the hotel more like a hostel.

The property lacked Iron an Ironing boards in room. Inconvenient to go to laudry room to Iron clothing. Appreciated having laundry facility but cost to dry was to expensive. A/C didn’t work and everywhere was hot.

The decor is a cool retro chic. A throwback to the 1960s or 70s. However, the mattresses feel like a throwback to the Stone age. Not surprisingly in Florence, off street parking here is nearly non-existent.

A practical option for a quick stay. Staff was friendly and helpful, parking was available and the hotel is close to the tram station that takes you into town, which made it very convenient. The property needs some freshening up but overall, good value for the stay.
