Power went out about six hours after we checked in. There was no accommodation made while we sat and baked in a room that had no AC during the hottest month in Florida. We rented five rooms. Our elderly parents could not navigate to and from the bathroom without any lights in the room. The only thing that did work was an alarm that beeped in the hallway, every other second, to let us know that the power was out. We couldn’t sleep with the heat and constant beeping. I spoke several times with staff members and the manager, who said many things, including:1) “it’s out of our control”; 2) “you will have to reach out to corporate to see if they will offer any compensation”; 3) “the generator will be replaced by 12:30 PM and you will have power“; 4) “actually, the generator is on its way from Orlando, and you will have power by 2 PM“; 5)“actually, the generator is on its way from Orlando, and we feel certain that power will be restored by 7 PM”; and the final quote when we checked out at 7:30 PM, because we could not take another moment with no air, no power, and an alarm-sounding, was 6) “we can’t make any guarantees but the generator should arrive at the hotel around 11:30 PM“. We had family fly in from California, Pennsylvania, and Michigan to celebrate 59th wedding anniversary and the only celebrating that was done was by Margaritaville, who made thousands off of our stay.

Excellent place for a family vacation, everything is perfect. The surrounding area is nice for walking, and the restaurants outside the hotel are recovering from the hurricane. I think that next year this area will be better, but everything related to the hotel is perfect.

The power went out Sunday night and when we checked out the next morning there was still no power and the staff didn’t even try to accommodate us for the inconvenience. We had small kids and I’m pregnant and they were unapologetic. They told us to call corporate.

JWB steak house is a must. The filet and the octopus, delicious. Service acceptable. The pool was incredible. Rented a cabana for $500 but includes 6 day pass and a fruit plate.

A portion of the resort is right on the beach, which is a big plus. The pool area can get lively, making it more of a fun, energetic hotel. Facilities were spotless, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
