Pretty Good Little Spot

This is a super cute little resort if you don't mind kids being around. The rooms could use an upgrade and drinks and food in the "resort" are a bit pricey. That said, the staff is very nice and I love the pools.

The property looks lovely until you look closely. We stayed in the bottom floor which was great, the cleaning staff was very polite, check in and out was fine, our first day breakfast was okay we payed for 2 buffet’s and our son ate from ours but we were still charged for his breakfast 14+taxes and also on the savons day we informed the server of having two breakfast payed for already and she then asked to charge it to our room, I told her we already payed for the adult meal we would pay for the cereal our 4 years old had again 14+ but she brought us a receipt for 71$ so we had to tell her again she then reversed the 71$ and only charged for our sons cereal. The room was average, but had lots of work that need to be done, there were lots of rust on everything (shower, door handle, light fixtures, fridge, hanger rack, chair)and the entry door was a struggle to close but my husband figured it out. There are a few more this but I’ll leave it there! The pros!! It’s close to the beautiful beach, there pool was nice, they host events and the hot tub was nice, the property grounds we very clean and they have an happy hour!

The property was clean & well kept. Our room was always clean. We were really unhappy with the location of the room. We felt we were in the middle of the parking lot, we were next to the kitchen delivery door, & it toward the end of the week smelled like we were next to a septic tank. We asked at the desk several times to be moved. Quite honestly, I felt mostly ignored. We were told to check every morning. People came & went in droves but there was never a room of the same type available in another location. I don’t believe there was never a room that emptied in the AM that we could move into & put the newcomer in the room we had. Unfortunately this ruined my husband’s special birthday. The desk staff appeared to not want to do the extra work. Originally we were told we booked thru a third party & I felt they paid less attention to our complaints.

After I booked and paid for the trip on Expedia, when I arrived I had to pay an additional $350 on a credit card for “fees”. When I asked what the fees were the desk clerk straight up said,” it’s just a way that hotel to make more money.” Also, I included the breakfast on my itinerary, but still had to pay for breakfast at the hotel. They just charged it to my credit card.

Overall, I give this property a 4 start rating. The facility and rooms were clean, the staff was nice. The breakfast buffet was really good, pancakes, French toast, hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit and cereal. I did see some confusion with some rooms included the breakfast buffet, and some did not. This was not made clear when you arrive and at $25/person, that can add up. The pools were ok, the one with the waterfalls was always dirty. We stayed in room 4008 and it was clean. The air conditioner was very loud and not working well, room stayed around 74 degrees, which for us is too warm to sleep. The walls are very thin, we could everytime someone got ice, elevators opened and anything going on at the pool. There’s not much to do in this area, we flew in and did not rent a car, so you were kinda stuck there.

have been going to this hotel for decades...the rebrand and upgrades are definitely a plus...sad to loose the splash park but its nice to know there are gathering places now..food was great, service was friendly
