If you are willing to trade service, hospitality, and basic comfort for this fantastic location this is the place you should book. First task getting someone’s attention at the front desk. Secondly the HVAC in the rooms are shot so pick a date that there is mild weather (In Texas that’s probably 4 days out of the year) our Jan. stay temps dropped to 20 degrees after being in the 70’s so the A/C was on. We switched it to heat but nothing the next morning on check out day our room was 56 degrees. I did get a sorry when checking out once all the employees let me up to the desk. Thirdly the decor is cool but not functional as the pull chain toilet ran almost all the time. There’s a reason they’re nonexistent in practical use, so have some plumbing skills. This hotel is in need of a little leadership and discipline to make it a great place to stay, so be prepared if you so choose to make the trade off.
