Terrible smell in the room

Stopped here overnight on way home from trip through maritimes. The first thing we noticed when we walked into the room was a strong smell…like it was a smoking room…but the establishment says it’s smoke free. It was so strong we had to buy a candle & room spray & open the patio doors to try to air it out. Other than that it appeared clean. The breakfast area was too small & got crowded with no seating very quickly. The food options was very limited…not even yogurt. Would not recommend

The room was great, large and great beds. Bathroom was clean, large and lots of towels. Only complaint was the breakfast wasn’t the greatest. Was good, but ran out of a couple things before the first half of breakfast time and still more to feed. But I do understand it is hard to judge how many people will actually show up for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

We travelled with our pet and we’ve had experiences in other hotels where the floor was dirty or other elements of the room neglected despite paying a high Pet Fee. Walking into our room I exclaimed how clean it felt and smelled! The staff were all so wonderful and clearly feel pride in their work. Thank you for the great stay. My husband mentioned several times how comfortable the beds were.

The complimentary breakfast was very good. The bed was comfortable if not a bit on the firm side. Air conditioner worked well and is adjusted with a thermostat on the wall that was easy to adjust. Wish the bathroom had more counter space but there was a lot of hot water for showers. They were having the parking lot redone, bad timing on our part, but when we were woken up earlier than the By-law start time the staff gave us a discount for that day. Nice, polite staff.

Clean rooms but room did have an odd, musty smell. We were just staying one night so it was fine. Nice to see that the parking areas were getting new pavement and gardens were being replaced/maintained. Found it odd that there was no recycling available in the rooms.

The hotel was clean however I didn’t like that I had to pay an extra 10$ to have a room on the main floor.this was Not disclosed by Expedia. We travelled with bikes and had to pay the extra fee to stay on the main floor.
