I was a late night check-in after 3 days of working in 103° heat at a festival & was looking forward to a hot shower to clean up so I can get some good rest for a long roadtrip home the next morning
So I checked in, decompressed for a bit, & went to run a hot shower but alas, no hot water. Called the front desk & she didn't seem to be very surprised...more like she fumbled on her response & stated she'd let engineering know in the morning. Ok...well, i am going to be checking out early morning so that doesn't help. She did not even offer to move me into the other building that night. Instead i attempted to wipe off three days of sweat with a cold wet wash cloth, crawled into bed and sat uncomfortably & tried to watch tv til i was able to relax...kinda hard without a hot shower to ease sore muscles.
In the morning, still, not a drop of warm water. So i got dressed, & went to use the hairdryer to at least smoothe out my bangs and calm the bed-head...but...the hairdryer in the room only blows cold air.
At that point, i gave up, grabbed my bag & went to check out & get my deposit back.
It was at this point the girl at the front desk offered to "move me" into a room in the main building so i could take a shower but it was too late as i had to get moving before the heat of the day
In the end, I only got a partial refund, not even half, just some. The manager does not care about that silly little law regarding "implied warranty of habitability" that applies to hotels too
