Easy access to Hakata station and also right across to Yodobashi camera. Staffs were nice and helpful.
Rooms are on the smaller side but enough to open a full suitcase in a corner
Location is excellent, shopping mall just opposite to the hotel, 7-11 is next to the hotel, within 5 mins walk from Hakata station.
The staff are nice and very helpful. Response to our questions are very quick no matter through Expedia app or face to face.
Incredibly kind and friendly Staff! Love the eco friendly approach, and the limited hotel amenities. As a seasoned traveler with sensitive skin, It just makes sense to have everything I need with me. Great that there were so much amenities available just in case, and think it's funny to see other reviews people complaining about having to gather what they need ( FOR FREE ) in the amenities area of the lobby. I myself was Glad to not have to contribute to more unnecessary waste. The location is incredibly convenient- 5 minutes on foot to Hakata Station- 2 minutes in either direction to a Family Mart. I did not see or opt for the breakfast buffet. There is also a big multi level shopping center next to Hakata station with plenty of shopping and dining options. The best part for me was FREE laundry room ! I would highly recommend this hotel and am actually quite sad there aren't any other rooms available upon my return to Fukuoka for the last 2 days of my trip.
Travelling as a family of 3 pax makes booking a room a little inconvenient when balancing space and price when most are geared up for either singles or couples. We booked this spacious room and was perfect for us as we also needed the space for packing our last minute purchases into our luggage before heading home in a flight.
For the price we paid, it was really good value for money plus the proximity to Hakata station was fantastic too.
My only grouse was a particular male reception who was on duty the evening before my departure. I was hoping to book a large cab since we had a lot of luggage’s for next morning’s transfer to the airport. This portly guy said they don’t do bookings and we had to do this ourselves. This is highly unusual since all the hotels in our 15 day holiday did that for us. The following morning I decided to check the reception again when I checked out. The slender guy with specs without hesitation got us a (sliding cab which is essentially is a London cab) and managed to squeeze all of us in with the luggage’s. The note might want to check internally on this.
Otherwise, it the location is fabulous for shopping, with Yodobashi store right across the street with others like AMU plaza and Kitte malls all nearby. Highly recommeded.
Overall good/standard experience. Front desk staff were polite and friendly. You will have to grab your own complimentary supplies like slippers, tooth brush, body wash cloth from the lobby and take it to your room, which I haven’t seen before but I guess it can cut down on cost? There is this “take your preferred shampoo/conditioner” pump station at the lobby too, which my wife thought was interesting. The room was quite standard sized, we had a regular twin bedroom, clean but has its wear and tear. About 7 min walk from JR Hakata Station which has a good selection of shopping.
Great location, only a few minutes walk to Hakata Station with lots of shopping and dining options around the area. The room was good size by Japanese standard and clean. The massage chair in the room is definitely a plus! The hotel offers free self-serve laundromat which we utilized, and laundry detergent pack is available at the front desk for a very reasonable 50 yen each. Breakfast buffet has a lot of food choices with emphasis on locally sourced vegetables, and Costa coffee too!
The staff was friendly and it was very close to Hakata station. The room was clean...and the nice thing was there was YouTube available on the tv, so watching English tv or movies was nice...the only thing that was bothering was on the 8th floor, the hall had a heavy musty smell...washer and dryers were free...however to a long time to dry clothes...other than that...would recommend...
Bad experience at Tenza Hotel at Hataka Station Fu
It’s terrible for my first time experience at this hotel. I booked one night 1 pax room then changed to a twin bed room my friend already booked.
However, I was shocked as when I checked in the first day, I was told at the reception I need to pay extra 200 yen per person per night for the government required accommodation tax, which I never need to pay extra for my past Fukuoka hotels via Hotel . com all the years the tax exists.
I checked with your online staff they said they never heard of it and wasn’t mentioned on the descriptions.
I believe it’s the way that hotel tries to be competitive with nearby hotel as that seems they are cheaper so tourists would pick them.
The second shocking issue was the hotel set a rule only ppl booked 4 nights or above can have room cleaning services. And ppl booked 4 night above can only have once per 3 days. The worst of all, is there were an ASEAN male staff tried to broker into our room forcing to give us new towels which we said we had and didn’t need any from him. We protested we’d call the police then he backed away. Thats a terrible experience we have ever in any hotels. I won’t recommend anyone to accommodate at such bad running hotel especially female.
