Excellent place to stay on the way to Texas. Friendly staff and excellent restaurant. Room was small but comfortable and they charged a fair rate for my dog. The air conditioner was a bit loud but all in all a good stay. I would stay again.

Fantastic experience. So iconic, beautiful rooms with fantastic decor. Clean bathroom and comfortable bed. The 49er lounge has an authentic feeling to it whereas the main restaurant was a little more canteen style. The foyer is spectacular, gym and outdoor pool also available. Hotel staff were cheery and friendly.

Staff was very nice and the property itself was great. The surrounding area was unsafe. Lots of homeless people walking through the parking lot. We were approached several times by people walking through the parking lot as we were unloading our baggage. We decided to leave. We were traveling with a U-Haul and were afraid of we stayed over night, out belongings would not have been there in the morning.

The food is fantastic, the hotel is very attractive with old furniture, western movies props, photos of our Hollywood stars. The only thing was the noise on the corridor and slamming doors which caused our pet to be extremely stressed out and us unable to sleep.

This hotel is a hidden treasure full of history. Also might be haunted!! I loved it just remember that the city has built up around the hotel and it is an older building so it can be loud at night

It was fine for what it is but the only mirror in the room is in the bathroom & there isnt a plug in or near the bathroom for hair tools & no mirror over the vanity/desk. No toilet lid wouldn't be so bad if there were ANY counter space to set anything. Two people getting ready was more challenging than i would have expected for the price. Our headboard also shared a wall with the antique elevator which bangs quite a bit when in use.

Visiting for the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial_Awesome!
The Ida Lupino room has so much history and is quite lovely. However, the bathroom was so small I could hardly turnaround. No where to put ANYTHING. And I’m small, my wife is a bit larger. In the middle of the night, mostly asleep I went into the bathroom and sat down. There was no thought even knowing where I was. The big surprise was a crack to my forehead, on the sink, as I leaned forward. Ouch!. And I had fallen asleep with my glasses on and thought for sure I broke them. What a shock! I have a lovely bump on my forehead and bruise on my nose. It should be pretty in a couple days (blk and blue) My glasses are fine. 😁 We were disappointed in the pillows, but the bed was really comfortable.
