Absolutely beautiful and well run property with friendly helpful staff; however, the Monarch restaurant service and food quality is significantly below the quality of the hotel. We stayed there in hopes of not having to leave the hotel for a fully wonderful evening. Restaurant was very disappointing, so we left and drove to another restaurant for dinner.

The Galvez is Grand

We always enjoy staying here. Friendly staff all the way around. Hotel is vey convenient to the Seawall & downtown. Restaurant is amazing and so is the bar. Can’t wait to go back and stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, just needs some improvements

The hotel was super beautiful!!! Everything was great. A few things that surprised me is that the fridge in the room was only big enough to fit 4 bottles of water. There isn’t any room to place a plate or anything wider than a bottle. From inside the room, you could hear every person walk by, every door open and close nearby. Also not pleasant when you hear kids running down the hallway at 7 am. During the night, you can see light cracking in from all edges of the door. One other thing that was that every window was screwed shut. I like to have some fresh air come in. But it is also a safety hazard in the event that a fire may be preventing from existing by the room door.

Everyone there was spectacular. The valet were amazing, the bartender was phenomenal, the front desk agent, i forget his name but he was so warm and welcoming. also- shoutout to the chef! the shrimp & grits changed my life!! for future guests… treat these people kindly. they go out their way to give us the absolute best service possible and we’re coming in with abundance. share it with them. these are some awesome people with great personalities and deserve respect.

LOVEDDD IT! Me and my fiancé went here for our engagement getaway !! The view was perfectttt and valet was cheap for how convenient it is!! I wish breaks fast was included for the price we pay but it’s a beautiful hotel with so much class.

This is definitely the best and nicest hotel on the seawall. It’s gorgeous inside and out, very convenient, close to the beach and other activities. The pool was perfect even though it took a while for the heated feature to kick in. Seems like they could have planned better for spring breakers by preheating the pool. My only real complaint is that the room, especially the shower floor wasn’t as clean as it should be. Housekeeping staff weren’t the kindest either.

Terrible Stay

**False Advertising, Poor Service, and Uncomfortable Stay** I booked this hotel *specifically* because they advertised a heated pool, which was the main reason for our stay. Upon arrival, we found out the pool was *not* heated at all, making it completely unusable. My kids were extremely disappointed, as this was supposed to be a fun getaway for them. When I brought this issue to the staff, their response was completely dismissive. There was no sense of urgency in fixing the problem, and every time I asked for an update, they made it seem like I was being unreasonable for even asking. Instead of taking accountability, they acted like it wasn’t a big deal—even though this was the *one* reason we chose this hotel. To make matters worse, the valet was an absolute disaster. It was completely unorganized, took forever to get our car, and felt chaotic the entire time. For the price we paid, I expected way better service. As if that wasn’t enough, the beds were incredibly uncomfortable—way too firm, and the pillows were flat and lumpy. None of us slept well, which only made the entire experience even worse. Overall, this stay was a massive disappointment. Between the false advertising, dismissive staff, and uncomfortable accommodations, I would *never* stay here again. If you're considering booking, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
