The hotel was clean, staff was excellent, but we were in room 411 and the noise from the air conditioner on the roof was extremely loud. We were able to minimize the noise by keeping our bathroom door closed. It sounded like we were next to the engine room on a ship. We still enjoyed our stay and would return again.

The air conditioning in my room wasn't working, but i was moved to another room quickly. I appreciate the swift move, but I wonder what the remedy would be if the facility was fully booked.

We were visiting Gander for the Come From Away experience and enjoyed it all immensely. Quality Hotel & Suites is clean, convenient and close to the airport and everything in town. The staff there is friendly and helpful! Breakfast on-site is enjoyable and the dining room is spacious and bright. The Visitor's Center is just down from the hotel and a Tim Horton's and gas station are right across the street. We got to see the play at the Smallwood Theater, the World Trade steel at all three sites, and were Screeched-In at the Legion Hall with Beulah, Oz and Brian. And we drove up the highway a bit to The Silent Witness Memorial - that is so very special. The people of Gander truly are open, hospitable and caring.

The property was very outdated and many things didn't work (outlets in bathrooms, wheelchair button for main doors, etc). The breakfast dining room seemed understaffed - there were waits for the waffle mix to be refilled, coffee thermoses, and to be seated. The rooms were mediocre. Clean but evidence that they were not deep cleaned (cobwebs on lamps). Check-in was quite late, at 4pm and despite asking twice if we could get in a little early, it was not possible because the rooms were not cleaned.

The hotel is ok. A good point was the receptionist who, when I arrived early, went to some trouble to find me a room that had already been prepared. I also saw her taking extra time to make each guest feel welcome. Being on Hwy 1, the hotel is convenient for those travelling across Nfd. Gas stations and fast food joints are nearby and strip malls with grocery stores, post office and Canadian Tire etc are a short drive. I always found at least a couple of parking slots available at the hotel. My room had a view of the lake over the parking lot, across the highway and beyond the woods. The highway wasn't noisy. Kids in the lobby seemed excited about the swimming pool. The included buffet breakfast was understandably not haute cuisine: scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat (sausage or bacon or Newfoundland steak = thinly sliced fried spam). The toaster was slow, so at busy times staff had pre-buttered stacks of toast. The 2.5 minutes that the wafflemaker took to provide a waffle felt like an eternity. Guests could access as much coffee, tea, juice and water as they wanted. The property is not new, with many layers of paint evident on the mouldings, and different patterns of carpet in front of the elevator from the carpet in the halls leading to the rooms. The junctions between the different carpets was taped down. At least it is evidence of upkeep. Whether I would stay there again would depend on whether I could get a better deal at another nearby hotel.

The hotel waa comfortable and clean. Would stay here again. Buffet in the morning was better than a lot of offeeings I've had in similar level of hotels. Only thing was when having a shower, the tub was slow to drain so you would be standing in rising water. I let the front desk know when checking out and they said they would have it looked at, so that was good.
