The remote did not work for the TV so we could not get it to turn on. The front desk staff was not at the desk the entire time, so when you need help with something, they are not always there. They told me they would be out of the office a lot, and just so happened that when I needed them, they weren't there. There was hair all in our bathtub and shower from previous guests. There was black mold in the shower as well. In the bathroom window, there was a half full water bottle left from a previous guest. And behind the furniture, it was filthy. We dropped a shirt behind the dresser and was afraid to touch it because of all the dirt back there. The min fridge was frozen solid and was un-usable. We planned on using it, but it couldn't because it was room temp the entire time. The room does appear to have gone through some recent work... the caulk looked new in the bathroom, etc. But over all, more work needs to happen. Better maids maybe? A 24 hour desk staff (which is the usual for hotels),

Dirty, broken sharp edged tiles, broken fixtures ( handle in shower end tile broken off and toilet paper ceramic holder broken off, wiring exposed with bare wire thimbles advertised free local phone but no phone at all in one room and i phone inoperable and six days no room attendant or cleaning

Amazing stay with amazing prices. The hotel was close enough to downtown Gatlinburg that you could simply walk there; no need to worry about parking. Considering the price, the room was as expected. Overall, the hotel is nice for a quick stay and the staff was very helpful.

convenient location downtown
Was brief just an overnighter was surprised no one was there for check in around 6pm had an envelope taped to front door with my name and a key in it which was a little disturbing should someone else just walk by and get my key and receipt for the stay. Left next morning around 6:10 and still no one in office and no place to leave key. Went back to room and left key in the room

Pricing good. Had no housekeeping service. Didnt get daily towels replenished, no trash bags replenished, etc.. had large gap at bottom of door which allowed cold air in room. No condiments for coffee. Other wise ok.

Perfect location to downtown. Literally right there. This is one of those hotels where you get what you pay for. Staff was fine, our key was taped to the lobby door when we got there because they closed early so that was convenient, room wasn’t the cleanest, but was ok. Bring your own blankets as theirs are thin and old. Perfect perfect location, walkable to the village and downtown. Overall would stay again if working with a budget, but don’t expect anything nice here.

Great Hotel at a great price
I love Mountain House Inn. Everytime I have stayed here the room was clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is super friendly. The bathroom is always clean and have plenty of towels. I will be staying here again. My family also loves this hotel.

For what you payfor not bad at all! Just gets a two star cause that's the property! Really outdated in every way. Wasn't dirty just really old, the bathroom trim on oneside was rotted out.
