Very average hotel. Room looked directly into another room so had to have curtains closed. Old room, very dark. Pillows were extremely poor. Location excellent for city, however probably wouldn’t choose to stay again.

My wee stay in Glasgow

Check-in fast, friendly and informative. Room and amenities great. A special touch using my favourite The Scottish Soap Company shampoo/soap etc. room had no central heating (which I hadn’t noticed) so was chilly when I came back from dinner. Had to take oil filled electric heater out of the wardrobe to use. Might have been better out in room prior to me checking in. Room very comfortable. Illy coffee machine and complementary bar was a nice touch. Bath and shower were amazing. Lots of hot water for both. Breakfast was freshly cooked (I went at 9am) so meat succulent and juicy. Lots on offer for hot food and the usual for continental. Gorgeous views of gothic buildings from the restaurant. Kept luggage for me as my train left later than check-out. Staff were friendly and courteous.

The property is quite old. Some of the lighting in the room wasn’t working, and the heating was spotty. The refrigerator was barely cool. Staff was nice however and it is very central to many places. I think it would be an amazing place with a renovation/upgrade.

Family trip

Short trip with family from the US. The hotel is centrally located and a block away from the train station. One drawback is transportation is limited in front of hotel. If you have accessible issues this may pose a challenge. They have a really nice garden top restaurant with a beautiful view.
