Next to no sleep

What a farce - difficult to find, difficult to access and budget is an understatement. Not even a kettle or hairdryer in the rooms. We were then woken ever 20mins by led lighting that had a mind of its own and would simply switch itself on…we gave up and called reception (from our mobiles because there’s no phone in the room) at 2am….they tried to fix it and failed. We were moved to another room which had FILTHY sheets…we were moved for a second time to a room in which the heating was broken but by this time it was after 3am and we were so tired we had to sleep with our jackets over our duvets. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. There is zero privacy for having a shower etc and if you’re on the larger size then closing the toilet or shower door could be a problem. Wouldn’t stay here again even for £60 for the night. The staff however were fantastic. Lovely and as helpful as they could possibly be. They are wasted here.

Room comfy, breakfast advertised at £6.50 on website, it’s actually £8.50. Also says complimentary tea and coffee at reception but it’s £2 and to be honest it’s horrible

Freezing Cold Rooms

No heating in room, the heater doesn't work, waited 2 hours and asked to change room, the receptionist said you need to set the thermostat like this and wait 2 hours and should be good to go, if not then she would change the room. Total 4 hours in a freezing cold room, feel like I was being played having to wait 4 hours, no heater take this long as I said to her. Back to the reception and request to change room, got to new room and it was the same, all night with no heating in a freezing cold room. When requested a backup portable heater, reception said the company couldn't bother to pay electricians to do the testing and bin it all. I think this is an on going problem with this Ibis hotel as last year they have the same issue, but at least they had a portable heater to help keep the guest warm. Also previous staff would quickly change room if the heater didn't work and not making it up that heater takes hours to heat up, the staff know this is a problem with majority of the room. Ibis, get your act together and fix the heater!

Great budget hotel

We arrived early (2pm) and were able to check in with no fuss. This is our 2nd stay here and both times the room has been, clean and comfortable. Ideal for a short stay with free parking and only a 20 minute walk to the city centre.

Very basic but cheap

Basic accommodation room was clean but carpeting in public areas was not. Pillows lumpy. No kettle or tea making facilities in room there was a machine near reception 2 pound a drink cups small. Heating in room not great and took all night before it warmed up. Free parking which was good and staff friendly and helpful. Paid extra for breakfast which was buffet and eat all you want was good and would recommend. All in all if your looking for somewhere really basic and cheap would be good.

You really get what you pay for here. No luxuries such as a toilet seat or bath mat. We didn’t even get a clean bathroom, the toilet was dirty when we checked in. The hotel is near a casino and slot-machine place and the area outside matches. While the walk into the city is short, it’s not a pleasant walk and I wouldn’t advise doing it in the dark.

If you like gambling, it is next to a casino with eateries you can walk to. In addition, it is near all the city sites. Only thing missing was a coffee maker and/or microwave, but not the end of the world

Probably one of the worst places we've stayed in a long time. Booked this ibis as it was just 20 min walk to the Ovo arena. Positives: close to Ovo arena (walkable in g9od weather) A few places for entertainment within 200 meters including a large car park (free while staying at the property, just enter reg details at reception via a tablet) Lots of places to eat including burger king and mother hubbards, also a cinema. Negatives: elevator is rickerty and a little iffy. Anyone with a fear mshould use the stairs Reception is on level 6 Our room had no carpets, room vas super basic almost clinical, felt like we we're in a hospital. Shower hose was broken so water pressure was low and squirted from the side of the shower head connection. Overall it served its purpose as we really enjoyed the gig at the Ovo arena but i was worried about parking near the other better known hotels. I will shell out on a stay at the moxy or the other hotels right near the Ovo next time. If possible you might want to avoid.

Room for a night.

The hotel was good for one night and had all we needed. But the shower was in the bedroom and as friends sharing we were not comfortable with that. The shower door was frosted but we would definitely have preferred the shower in a separate room.

Lift was dirty, main area dirty, tables dirty. No hot food, machines were dirty. Room was a shock, very cold student room. No glass or a cup at least. Quite shocked considering the price. Sorry. Staff were lovely, doing their best with basics.
