The hotel contains a hotel, spa and function room/wedding facilities. It is located near enough to Cheltenham and Gloucester which makes it perfect to see everything the Cotswolds has to offer.
The room we stayed in was comparable to a travel lodge room, the bedroom space was nice, however the bathroom seemed rather tired and not quite what you would expect from a 4 star hotel (peeling paint, cracked sealant, old bath with shower which was not the easiest to get in and out of).
The spa was equipped with the facilities you would expect, however the staff did not explain the venue on our first visit and even forgot to give us towels. There was no attempt to offer the paid for services.
The restaurant was a nice room and well equipped for breakfast and dinner. Again it was it hit and miss in terms of the guidance around breakfast and what was available. Breakfast included a good range of items with the option to upgrade to additional items for a small cost. The pancake upgrade with fruit consisted of a few blueberries which was a bit disappointing.
In terms of dinner it was disappointing that one of the 2 vegetarian options was sold out when we went to dinner which left my wife with only one choice. Food was well presented and tasty.
The bar was well stocked but appeared to operate on a more of a London level pricing structure.
A good well located hotel, just needs some updating to the rooms and consistency in terms of the service.
