Very poor service
One of the mattresses was covered with plastic sheet .My daughter slept on that bed and had terrible night. She was sweating and ciuld not sleep because of the plastic sheet covering the mattress. She told us the following morning. She was irritable and had headache due to lack of sleep and we had to return home early. We made a formal complaint at reception to Chelsea and still have had no reply.
I emailed to hotels.com 2 days ago and had no reply.

Quick three night trip to GC. Hotel was nice and clean. Staff were friendly.
Had to go across to the hotel next door for dinner and drink. Felt a bit like I was using someone else's space.

I stayed at the property before about two years ago. Back then the service and facilities were immaculate. I went to check in at 1:30pm and the lady at the front desk was serving someone else. I waited and she looked at me and asked me to take a seat until she was finished.
She continued on to laugh with the other guest for the next 15 minutes. I walked back up asking if I could leave my bag so I could get some food (had been travelling for 2 hours to get to the property and didn’t want to wait for ages for her to finish).
She told me that she wouldn’t be long and to take a seat again. Honestly i was checked in after 30 minutes. Once I was checked in, she forgot to give me my room key. I had to come back downstairs to get my room key.
I went upstairs and there was hair in one of the rubbish bins. On the second day of my stay, I went downstairs and asked for a towel for the pool. The lady at the desk said they haven’t been delivered yet and to use the one from my room - for perspective, it was 1pm in the afternoon. I asked for a toothbrush kit as I forgot toothpaste and was told to get it from the front desk.
I went to the pool on my last day and the jacuzzi was tepid and not warm at all.
I think that customer service is so important especially if you want customers to return. Definitely was lacking customer service and basics of my stay. Unfortunately not sure I will be returning on my next stay on GC or would I recommend it.
I found the staff at check in and check out amazing.
The letdown was the wifi and the connection to smart TV. You have to use your own log ins to streaming services, which effects your family’s services at home. Also I was unable to connect to free to air channels at all.
The free wifi is unsecured (not password protected) therefore poses individual risks.
There weren’t any extra blankets supplied in the room.
I tried to call for room service as we arrived in the evenings. Unfortunately it is no longer a service offered or assisted with (regardless of advertising in the room).
Overall, a pleasant stay, a part from the above.
This hotel is so outdated, tired and uncomfortable. Pay a little extra and stay elsewhere. Checkout is 10am, the 80’s decor has never been updated, the fridges are noisy, the bed uncomfortable, and there is no powerpoint to charge your phone. Also, the car park is lower than 2 metres, which is too low for most SUVs. Give it a miss. Quest should buy it and do it up.

Paid lastminute.com for my room....payment was taken, was given confirmation online...arrived before close of check-in to find nobody at the desk, then a rude cleaner who said I hadn't booked a room, and when I showed them my details and began to record the whole incident as proof, the cleaner for some reason decided to call the police....the worst I've ever been treated by any hotel, and lastminute.com have still not refunded my money. Disgusting
