Private onsen was nice, just have to reserve a time

Perfect stay, will come back.

This was an amazing experience, staying in a renovated samurai home. I stayed in the larger suite and had a full view of the garden and a lanterned alcove just outside the bath. Everything is new and clean, and the owners clearly take pride in this historic home. Even the tatami seams are artful. The staff was so friendly. I only speak a little Japanese, but they were patient and kind while I thought of the right words, and check-in was lovely. They also held my bag while I went sightseeing. It was so quiet at night that I slept very well. I didn't hear anything from the restaurant, just the occasional road noise, but it wasn't a bother at all. The traditional futon was cozy! I would absolutely stay here again, especially if I returned with a group because it's a rare 2-bedroom (4 futons) and very spacious.

definitally on the older side. room was decently big but everything was yellowing. overall fine as most other hotels were full that day

Free sake! Nice staff and good spacious room in a good location.

Excellent hotel with some perks such as free midnight ramen, popsicles and treats. Great location, lovely onsen and massage chairs!

Property is severely outdated and not well maintained. Looks to be late 60’s/early 70’s. We booked last minute and got the last room so it was not traditional Japanese. However the room was HUGE. It came with a separate living room. We enjoyed having so much space but again the furniture was very old. The hot springs were great but no there is no attendant. So if you don’t know the customs you might embarrass yourself. This place is used regularly by locals. The dining experience was interesting. It’s served “Viking style” meaning buffet. It’s a large open cafeteria setting. Not something I’m used to but I rather enjoyed it. Not much to do unless there’s snow. Theres a small ski lift a minute away.

It was very good and especially the breakfast staff was awesome as usual!!
