Poor decision by charging for a 2nd night not used

Booked a 2-night stay. At 4pm the day after our first night, something came up and we had to leave to go home. Was okay paying for a late checkout fee, but instead was forced to pay for the entire next night we wouldn't be there. We were told because housekeeping had gone home. However, the hotel was empty - only a few cars in parking lot and hardly anyone staying in hotel. There was no need to charge us the full amount for the 2nd night we wouldn't be there because the room wouldn't have been used anyway. Whether it was policy or greed, it was still a bad decision because I will never ever go back to this establishment and now likely won't ever stay at any other Wyndham hotel property. Had they been courteous and provided good customer service by just charging us a late checkout fee, I wouldn't feel this way. Bad decision.

Overall a great place to stay

Front staff was awesome. Check in process was fast and smooth. They waived our pet fee since we were there for the dog show so that awesome and I appreciate that so very much. Our room was fantastic, it was huge and comfy. We booked a two- king bed suite for the weekend that we attended the dog show in Glen Rose. Housekeeping could have been better but it wasn't awful. Elevator stopped working all weekend...worked off and on with the chance of getting stuck in it. That sucked for us since we were on the 3rd floor. We just laughed it off and considered it "getting our steps in" lol Oh and breakfast selection could use some work. Overall our stay was great, beds were comfy, pillows were comfy, room was big and it was just down the street from the venue...huge plus! Positives definitely out weigh the negatives and this hotel will stay in my book of places I'd stay at again.

“That’s not a hot tub” 😂

Okay, there was a bed, no roaches, and the location was great. So if hard pressed and I needed a place to sleep I could do this again. BUT 1) The elevator didn’t work on day one. It was fixed on day two but smelled like burning rubber…so stairs. 2) We went out to the hot tub and realized that the water was cold. The timer turned but didn’t seem to activate the spa. After a few minutes of trying the receptionist came out and told us a) the pool is closed (there was no sign indicating this…it was 2pm) and b) “That’s not a hot tub. It’s a miniature pool.” 😂 She was NOT MAKING A JOKE. I wish I had that moment on film. 3) minor perhaps but the coffee is so so so bad. Just bring your own coffee grounds if that sort of thing matters.
