This is a historic boutique hotel on the old Route 66 in Williams, Arizona. It is very well renovated and the inn keeper is awesome. Warm, inviting, a step back in time.

We stayed one night in the family suite after taking Polar Express with our Grandson. Clearly the hotel is old... After reading the letter that was in our room that said "Our Story" We understood more about the Hotel. The building was built in 1891. It was abandoned about 1970 or 1980. In 2004 it was purchased and the owners ran it as a Hotel. In 2023 it was purchased by the new owners who have made improvements but noted they have come a long way... but have further to go in making the needed repairs. Our room had 2 bedrooms and a sitting room. The sitting room had a portable heater and one of the bedrooms had a portable heater. We gave the rating for the reasons below: One bedroom had a window Air Conditioner that had gaps and the COLD air was coming in the room from the outside. (We had to move a portable heater in to get the room warm to sleep) Williams Az in Mid December you cane imagine how cold it was in the room... NOTE: When we told the morning front desk person in the morning about the problem we basically got ZERO response from her... Also, in December you can imagine how cold the rooms are that had no portable space heater in them when we got up in the morning.. ie Bathroom and Sitting Room.

My stay at the Historic Grand Canyon Hotel was wonderful! The new owners clearly prioritize making guests' experiences seamless and enjoyable. Communication was excellent—I received detailed emails and texts about what to expect, parking, and even a digital Customer Agreement to e-sign, making check-in a breeze. As expected, the small hotel lot was full, but their guidance made parking on 2nd Street hassle-free. My room was spotless, with a comfy bed, thoughtful touches like makeup wipes, and even a black washcloth for makeup removal. They confirmed details ahead of time (no view, skylight atrium, no TV) to ensure there were no surprises. Entry via code was super convenient—no lost keys! My only gripe? The soundproofing could be better (but the hotel is 100 years old); I could hear neighbors’ conversations, and not everyone respected quiet hours. The train horns are audible, but they’re part of the charm. And guess what? Ear plugs were provided! I just turned on my white noise on my phone and slept well. They also had a link where you could pre-order items and even leave the hospitality staff a tip (which is awesome because I never have cash). They also sent a survey out after the stay to collect guest feedback on what they could improve. Overall, a great experience thanks to excellent communication and care!

Loved the historical touches, part of its charm and also part of the need for a couple improvements/updates. (and they are still working on that). The bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Brrrr!
It was excellent except for the fact that there was no hot water. It was a little disappointing trying to take a shower with very cool water. I would have given them 5 stars if not for the lack of hot water.

Loved the fact that we could stay in the oldest hotel in Williams. The property has a lovely old worldly charm. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The only thing which could be improved is the breakfast. There was not much choice and maybe a few hot options could be introduced.

In love!!! The cleanliness and esthetic of this hotel is unmatched! I went around taking pictures to help with our home remodel because let me tell you not a detail was missed in this hotel, every corner, every light every rug was well thought out! Our room was on the smaller size but felt grand and large with the color palette and tall ceilings. The bathroom shower is legendary! We stay in older hotels often because we love the history of them, alot of them have been in northern Az and this one is a must stay! We cannot wait to come back this December with our family! If you are thinking of staying here, do it! The hotel staff and accommodations are hard to beat.
