I brought my 81 year old mom to the Grand Canyon to check this off her bucket list. The Maswik lodge was perfect. Everything was very accessible and quiet for our long weekend. Super easy to catch the shuttles to take us to different stops along the rim. A good variety of food options. We had an amazing time.
One of my all time favorite hotels. Convenient to hiking Bright Angel trail in the Grand Canyon. Room was exceptional. Convenient to restaurant and shopping. Great wild life in the area. Can't wait for my next trip to the Grand Canyon and Maswik Lodge.
Excellent place for families. Easily accessible to everything in the park. 10 minute walk from the edge of the Grand Canyon.
The air conditioning unit was shutting off at night making our room sweltering hot. Probably about 74°F. When we called the front desk to ask, we were told that they are called swamp coolers. They are meant for the desert and work really well when it’s hot. During the night when it gets cool, it will just shut off. But your room stays hot.
They say they clean the rooms every third day. Instead of cleaning our room, they came knocking at our door at 8 PM that night asking if we needed anything. At that point, we were already getting ready for bed. So do not depend on housekeeping services at all.
We stayed in the newer south buildings. Two of the buildings did not have functioning elevators. They were out of order. Only one building had a working elevator. So our family had to split up into two separate buildings to accommodate. :(
This isn’t one of the glamour properties in Grand Canyon Village, but it was perfectly comfortable and is actually in a very good location as it’s a short walk to the famous Bright Angel Trail and not much further to the equally well known El Tovar Hotel. It’s set back from the rim, so no canyon views from here. However it does also offer a large cafeteria style diner with decent, if not amazing, food. Overall, I’d say a good choice for families on a budget. Nothing fancy but perfectly comfortable in a convenient location.
This place Was great! Rooms were large! Food court provided a lot of choices for food. We parked right beside the building where our room was. We were 3 tenths of a mile from the south rim.
This property is well located in the Grand Canyon National Park but I consider it a bit too expensive in terms of room confort, which is very basic (the configuration of the suite requires at least, a small night lamp to be installed in the hall leading to the bathroom as it is difficult to find the light switch in that area during the night; the Internet connection is also bad).
The room was clean and a sufficient size for two people. The property is ideally located and the free shuttle service was excellent. The staff were helpful. It would be nice to have a microwave in the room for snacks and leftovers. We would stay here again!
