This is a ski resort, so not a lot of stuff open, nowhere to eat at the resort. Our room looked over the gondola ride and had a great view. Room was new, very comfortable. Stayed two nights, room was not made up during the day while we were gone doing the touristy stuff. Excellent hot tub, huge, but you can't even bring in a beer after a day of sight seeing and hiking.

Nice room but the resort has nothing to offer

Our room had a beautiful view, wonderful beds and was outfitted with plenty of shampoo, towels, etc; however, the resort had absolutely NO dining options as advertised. All the restaurants were closed except for the chalet which involved an $80 gondola ride (two people round trip). This was very upsetting because I specifically booked the place because of the on-site dining options it had listed. When we asked in both the gift shop and the ticket office about dining options on the mountain, we were told there was nothing but the chalet. This wasn’t true. We found out that the competing hotel down the road had a restaurant/bar (thank god). Also, PLEASE put a full length mirror outside the bathroom area. This allows people to get ready when the bathroom is being used and allows people to check their outfits. Simple and considerate convenience. Finally, asked to check in at a normal check-in time (3pm) and they kept giving me the runaround that the room wasn’t ready until 4:30pm. There were no cleaning people at the building where our room was. Nice place, could use a little maintenance on the outside grounds, but a lot of deceitfulness about what the resort had to offer. Not sure I would stay there again because of this. If you do stay there, CALL and find out if anything is open and then take what you’re told with a grain of salt.

The view from the balcony was beautiful. Other guests were quiet and respectful. So close to local attractions and close to Grand Marais for a nice afternoon. Everything was perfect!

Lovely place to hang out.

I have been here many times. I love this resort. The gondola ride is right near this place and the alpine slide too. The view is amazing. And the trails are gorgeous. Totally recommend it.

Most resorts cost thousands of dollars for fancy vacations in far away locales. We spent a few hundred dollars for two nights stay, a gondola ride, and a few times down the alpine slide. It was a really fun and relaxing and we didn't spend a fortune. The restaurants in Grand Marais were great and we enjoyed hiking up the Brule River to see Devil's Kettle Falls. The hot tub is great!
