The Shoreline is an old hotel that could use some updating, but for the money you won’t do better. It was safe, located in a Great spot, close to all the shopping and food. Parking at peak season could be a problem, if you are willing to walk a half block there is a very large parking lot available. The staff will do anything they can for you. Slow down, take a deep breath, how bad can it be, you are in Grand Marais!

I was in a room with lake view. Gorgeous view it is. The hotel is older and heat does not seem to work. My room was equipped with a portable heater. The staff person was very religious and did not appreciate ghost jokes but overall, they were friendly and provided good service. The breakfast is nice, cereal and toast, yogurt, juices coffee. one can sit by the window and see lake view.
