At 1:30 am one of the staff knocked on the door, and telling me that I was making a lot of noise in my room. I never did that. I couldn’t sleep till 4:00 am. Because some people were making noise. I will never go to this place again

Hampton - my favorite hotel chain
Silly us didn't see the remote to lower the shade, so I guess it would've been nice to have it mentioned at check in or perhaps a note on the desk in our room etc. The people in the rooms above us were rather noisy - as far as stomping/running or just walking hard even in the mid of the night.

Hotel front door area was blocked off as they were repaving. No one was at the desk when we arrived. A maintenance staff persin went to get someone. When she came, she was annoyed because we were a half hour or so early and she was sure nothing was as yet available. She looked and announced we were very lucky since there was one. But then she couldn't get the machine to create our keys. She tried repeatedly and while we used the restroom, she got the manager out to help. He couldn't do it either, so had to give us their one key they keep as backup. Neither one welcomed us, nor had a nametag, or smiled once. At 3 AM I woke with a bad allergy attack which lasted through the night, so I was eager to leave. My husband was fine. The inn was beautiful, new, apparently clean and the breakfast was good and plentiful. The building is, however, beautiful and very clean and spacious in appearance. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

Front desk staff failed; better options elsewhere
Have stayed here several times in the past. Good location, potential for an excellent experience, but far from ready for prime time. I will skip this place in the future. The front desk attendant was asleep when I arrived at 11pm. He didn’t acknowledge my arrival until I spoke a couple times. Courtesy level = 0. Simply muttered “license” and “credit card.” He was either very high or barely awake. Worst desk staff I can recall. The room had a strong smell of cleaning products and when I removed my shoes, I learned why: the carpet was still wet from cleaning. My socks were soaked. Several odd maintenance issues: toilet seat would not stay up, faucet barely extended into the sink, broken TP holder. Meh, lots of other hotel options in the area to choose from.

The property is newly renovated. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, it's quiet and the hot breakfast was good. We were there for a concert at the Van Andel Arena. It took about 15 minutes to get there, which was fine for us.
