Lovely staff working at the hotel, attentive . Breakfast was good , thank you to JARED and MAGGIE for looking after us. Restaurant bar staff were lovely too. We sat in the lounge for a couple of hours in the afternoon , such a shame there aren’t any cards dominoes scrabble chess or other games for guests to use as there are in many other hotels. The hotel reception areas , outside garden area and both restaurants were lovely.I was disappointed with the room 201 though . 3 flights of stairs and no lift ! Small , with not much space to move around .Bathroom was a tight fit too . Carpet didn’t reach the walls , was quite stained in many places . Limited storage area for your suitcase coats boots etc The bed was comfy and we both slept well.

This is our third visit and we love it here , staff are lovely especially the lady that serves breakfast, which is delicious and will accommodate what you want. Rooms are clean beds comfortable.

Perfectly situated by the sea

I booked a trip to be near the sea and this hotels location did not disappoint It’s a 2 minute walk from glorious golden beach as far as the eye can see I got up early and watched the sunrise - which was spectacular- and I was especially delighted to see seals bobbing right where the waves crashed into the beach Amazing views- although not from my bedroom which looked onto roofs The hotel is clean and comfortable- my room was small but adequate with a small shower room The corridors are cozy and there are 2 flights of stairs so be prepared to get your steps in! The receptionist was so welcoming and helpful I found the room was a little on the warm side for me Perfect for what I was looking for. -a quiet retreat in order to contemplate and be alone with my thoughts And glorious beach walks a plenty Would stay again

Weekend romance

Breakfast excellent also service prompt and efficient We found a valuable laptop computer and mobile phone in bedroom drawer.£1500. Apparent that a former guest left behind by previous guest BUT NOT discovered by domestic cleaning staff!! Handed to Manager and hopefully that the owner advised of our honesty. Seemed indifferent to our action.

Beautifully presented although it looked as if room accessibility for disabled guests could be an issue. Unfortunately the hotel had a big black tie dinner on the night I stayed and therefore the kitchen closed earlier than I could get there so was unable to order food. Had an offer to provide crockery etc. if I wanted to order in but felt less than totally friendly.

Really enjoyable stay - staff were so helpful and food was fantastic. Totally recommend the skate wings, delicious. Give the cocktails a try too - margarita excellent!!

Poor maintenance

The maintenance of the room was poor. The 1st room was so hot I couldn’t stay because they couldn’t change the setting. So I was upgraded to the Bath Suite where the radiators didn’t work and there was a small fan heater, so they must know. The lights were flashing took me ages to get them to stop. I didn’t want to move again so I managed to get the lights off. Just poor maintenance. I ate in restaurant the food is nice and the service was good. I will stay again as it works for me for work but they need to do some maintenance on the rooms and get basics like heating working.

Good overnight stop

We weren’t there for long as just an overnight stop. Staff all seemed very nice. The mattress in the room was way too soft and could feel springs. Bar is great but did close early due to it being quiet. Only went for a small double room due to length of stay. Great value

Lovely January stay

From reception to Maggie at breakfast and the restaurant staff, everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The double room was a good size, kept very warm (which was welcome given the cold January snap) and the bed comfortableThe room overlooked the outdoor eating area - January so no business there - and the kitchen roof with its extraction unit - which started around 7:30 am. Breakfast was well cooked and the flexibility given dietary issues was very welcome. The on-site parking was usually available (again January visit so not too busy).
