It’s in a nice area surrounded by good restaurants and nice shopping areas. The hotel is very old. The rooms are not modern at all. Our mini fridge did not work. It was warm. We went swimming to the hotel pool, and had to wait almost 1 hour for towels to become available. Service at the pool was slow. Our room smelled like an old wet rag. I don’t understand how this room had such high ratings. We will not be going back. I do not recommend.

Beautiful Hotel

This was my 3rd time staying at the Barcelo, my family and I love the Hotel, it's very well located, so close to the airport, the service of the shuttle bus is very convenient and professional. The Hotel is beautiful and comfortable, the service is great! The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable. The buffet breakfast is excellent and the service of the staff in the restaurants is very very good. Thank you we would stay again in the future.

Wonderful hotel in Guatemala City

This is a wonderful hotel, with great service and very good location (4 blocks from a mall and near nice plazas and good restaurants). Our room was very big, comfortable and clean, with service provided every day. All personnel is extremely kind. Esvin and Thelma at the La Fuente restaurant were very kind and helpful. That restaurant offers an amazing complete breakfast! The hotel and surrounding area (zone 9) are very safe and nice. Some nights there were musicians and a singer at the lobby, which made our stay even more pleasant. There is a tourist agency inside the hotel (I highly recommend to take the tour to Antigua). This hotel provides free shuttle from/to the airport, which is very convenient. We got a nice surprised from the hotel management: an invitation for a free dinner on our last night there!!! We look forward to stay at this hotel next time we visit Guatemala!
