The exterior and lobby area of the hotel was lovely giving it an appearance of luxury. However once you exit the elevators and on your floor, the disrepair shows very quickly. The carpets were dirty and stained. The walls chipped. The room was very little, and for the most part clean but aged. The window looked over the roofs of neighbouring buildings and all the piping for ventilation etc. the bathroom was very small and you had to sit sideways on the toilet or your knees would hit the shower wall. The shower however was wonderful and hot!

This hotel is very outdated. The floor in our room was sagging and the carpets everywhere were dirty and stained. The photos on hotel’s website are very deceiving. The bathroom in our room was not even close to the photos. The shower floor was cracked, the water didn’t drain properly and the floor looked dirty because it’s so stained. We would not stay here again. I wish I read the reviews on Google and not on Expedia. The staff was nice and breakfast was very good. The location is excellent.

Excellent hotel- the nicest one I’ve ever stayed.

Amazing hotel in the centre of Haarlem. Stayed here 3 nights whilst doing a bike tour around Holland and this was a beautiful place to use as a base for a few days. The room and wet room were huge and we had a lovely view of St Bavo’s church. Just perfect! Also had to stay an extra night and luckily our room was still vacant!😊

Excellent central location in the heart of the old marketplace. Easy 15 minute walk to the train station which was better than taking a taxi due to mainly pedestrian traffic location. Walkable to many shops, restaurants, bars and city sites. Very friendly and helpful staff with easy check-in and out. Improvements - shower is almost on top of toilet with small glass wall separating them - glass wall should be longer as floor around toilet also gets wet and slippery. A small fridge would be nice too. Both of these maybe due to old nature of building.
