This is an old hotel. Staying there, you are going a generation back in time, perhaps reflecting Haast itself. The hotel, however, is very clean. The staff is super friendly. The hotel hosts a restaurant, where locals seem to like to hang out. The food and beer are good, the atmosphere is chilled, and there is a pool table!!Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. The room was clean, quiet, roomy enough, and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious food and had a very lively atmosphere. We met lots of interesting travellers and local people at the Haast hotel, it was a rich cultural experience.

First time on our travels we have encountered slow service at check in. There were three other parties of people waiting even after ringing the bell several times. Quick check in but not very informative. Room was pretty average. Bathroom was unclean. The floor area around the toilet was pretty grim and the bottom of the shower was yellow and dusty. The bed was clean though and comfortable. Fridge in room.

Ok for one night, Haast is very small township, so choice of accommadation is very limited. Disappointed to find lipstick on a cup and used milk in our room on arrival. Whole complex is in need of an upgrade.

Pleasant stay, good value

Good value, nice beach and only just 4 minutes in the car, comfortable bed, plenty of room, the lady at reception was very welcoming and helpful, the barman needs a personality transplant, very sour faced, meals were ok and good value, on the whole a pleasant stay, the only real negative is I thought the room could do with a bit of TLC, but for the price I suppose that’s what you get

First time visiting Haast and we loved this place. The view from our room, straight into greenery and mountains. We loved it and will definitely be back again as the last trip was a spontaneous last minute plan. We loved it. And the restaurant/bar was great too with lovely staff.

The check in was personal and ensured thst we were guided to our unit. The dual access to outside and an indoor walkway to the restaurant is a nice touch in a rainy area.Good location near an intersection and the visitors center. Would recommend this property, thanks.
