Beautiful quiet rooms with private tub in the balcony. The staff was very welcoming, the set menu for dinner was amazing, as was the breakfast. Finally, the onsen was natural and relaxing. Would definitely return again.

Room was excellent with hot springs bath on deck of room to enjoy outdoors! The two restaurants we ate at night along with free buffet in morning was excellent! The only difficulty we had was shuttle to hotel as we had two infants and we had to carry strollers up and down stairs and then shuttle bus driver didn’t help with luggage or stroller. Complaint made and on way back they gave us a private shuttle which was a great help!

Must stay hotel in Hakone!
We stayed here 2 nights and absolutely loved it! There are 2 public onsens that alternate between gender each day, tons of in-room and onsen amenities, onsen etiquette lessons, huge rooms, nightly entertainment with complimentary sparkling wine, amazing service by the friendly staff, free ice cream whenever you want, footbath, coffee, tea, a large beautiful garden, the views are unreal at every spot, and the list goes on. We weren’t a huge fan of the kaiseki dinner but there’s a chirashi bowl and dessert buffet you can help yourself to. Breakfast had a huge variety but the French toast was unbeatable. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Hakone!!

This time the room arrangement was above a cargo loading area , so every morning at 6 am there is always the noise of the trucks unloading. Another problem was the miscommunication of the check out time. The time written was 12 pm but the clerks said it was 11 am and wanted to rush us out, else would be given extra charge.

This is our second time to Tenyu, still have really good experience. However, they didn't honor the food and beverage credit though. Also, we enjoyed the kaiseiki dinner before, however, they do offer teppanyaki as well as soba restaurant.

Last year we stayed this hotel and we came back this year too! The room, baths are beautiful and food is amazing. We were my mum(70’s) and me (40’s) and my daughter (10). So this amazing buffet made all of us so happy. Staff members were so nice and helpful and of course, Yunessan is great fun! We hope to come back place next year too!
