We asked for an upper floor quiet room. Our room was in the corner overlooking the footbath and it was silent and very large. The library with snacks and all you could drink area was wonderful. Breakfast buffet was varied and the food was plentiful and delicious. The location cant be beat either. It is located in between Gora station and open air museum. Both within walking distance.

The staff in this hotel were all excellent - very helpful and seemed genuinely to want their guests to enjoy their stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The food at breakfast and dinner was plentiful and varied. Outside of meal times there is a lounge offering cakes and tea and alcohol etc on a complementary basis and the lounge itself was a very pleasing space. The location is a few minutes walk to Gora station (where you can buy the Hakone Free. Pass) and about an 8 minute walk to the Hakone open air museum - so very convenient location. Happy we chose this hotel.

We had a lot of expectations from this hotel, and really wanted to like it as it was one of the more ‘luxury” hotels we splashed out on for our honeymoon. Whilst it was still a lovely stay, I don’t think it quite lived up to our expectations (but maybe they were too high!) We had a room with a private onsen, but the bathroom and room in general didn’t feel as clean as anywhere else we had stayed in Japan. The overall hotel did have a lot of facilities on offer, and I think would have been good with children, but to us it felt a little more like a European all inclusive a little past its heyday, and was too large to give the feeling of luxury. The onsens were some of the least inspiring looking that we had stayed at, and the breakfast / dinner options were good, but good for mass catering rather than standalone good meals. We did enjoy being able to wear the robes around the resort though, which was relaxing and quite a fun experience. This wouldn’t have swayed our opinion of the hotel, but we had let all the places we stayed know it was our honeymoon in advance of our trip, and most had left a small token in our rooms (nothing big - just a cute message with a folded towel animal, or a congratulations at reception, etc). This was the only hotel we stayed at which didn’t mention it at all which contributed to the feeling of the impersonal resort-esk vibe.

We were at the property for one night only. First the checkin, it was ok. No complaints. Next the room and facilities were functional and much better than my expectations. Amenities like nightwear, Yukata, dental kit, soaps etc was provided. In the library which is more like a lounge they provided free tea, coffee, soft drinks, beer etc free of charge. It was a nice place to sit and interact with others. They have 2 private onsens and 2 public onsens. Private onsens could be used by mixed gender people as a private group however for public onsens, girls and boys both have to separately. Breakfast was amazing and worth the price. I did not have dinner so cant comment on that. You are just 5 minutes walk from the main Gora Station. Overall I highly recommend this place for location, facilities, amenities and breakfast.

We had a lovely two night stay here at Yutowa. It was a real treat for us as it is quite a special hotel. The shared living library area is beautiful with leafy outlook, the lovely deck with foot spa and fire pit was so relaxing in the evening. The rooms were lovely. It was all the little touches that made it so special. The Yukatas in room to wear, little slippers, free nibbles in the afternoon etc we used the massage chairs which were good and had a private onsen. This made our visit to Hakone feel so relaxing. We did the loop & outdoor museum but allowed plenty of time to enjoy the hotel too. Great location for the Cable car & museum. Thanks Hotel Yutowa for a lovely stay.

This hotel was perfect to visit Hakone. Its located a 5 minute walk from Gora station and lots of buses stop right outside. The room was spacious and very well presented. A very comfortable stay.

There are so many areas within the complex that you can sit back and relax. Little nooks, hammocks, the foot bath and fire pit area.

Enjoyed 2 nights with delicious breakfast at this very comfortable hotel. 2 minute walk to train on flat terrain. Stay in hotel, 2 wings and you'll be close to everything like snacks from 3 to 7 and alcohol and dessert from 7 to 10 pm. Unlimited drinks like water, soda and tea. Masseuse is excellent!

Too many loud, rude foreign tour groups. Do not stay on the floor near the library. They offer a free happy-hour which is generous but the foreign travelers behave like a party-way to loud talking and laughing until way past 10pm so you can’t sleep. The foreign guests were Horrible.

This hotel has everything you need without going out too far. There is onsen ( private and public ). Breakfast and snacks are complimentary. Only downside is one of the bean pillow which is uncomfortable
