Quick check in however the front desk agents’ personality could have been better. The property is laid out strangely with 2 wings and stairs that show up randomly on the floors. We had a luggage trolley and had to abandon it as we encountered stairs. Our room was nice however the HVAC was hard to figure out and we had an earwig in our bath. But we enjoyed our stay and the server we had in the restaurant was incredible. Also our housekeeper was great - he liked my son’s soccer jersey and shook his hand as he supports the same team!

July 2025 - We stayed here for 2 nights during our travels of the East Coast. The pool area was clean. We had the suite room with 2 queen beds and we found it spacious for a family of four. We were very surprised at how noisy the surrounding rooms were - we could hear everyone leaving the elevator, the surrounding rooms and the neighbourhood outside (windows were closed). The hotel is located in a residental neighbourhood and located within driving distance of downtown. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious and affordable - but there were very limited options for other food nearby. The breakfast served was excellent and well labelled for those with dietary restrictions. I booked hotels with free breakfast at all the hotels we stayed at during our two week trip, and this was the only breakfast I could enjoy (being dairy free and gluten free).

A nice hotel a little further out

This is a nice hotel with excellent bedding. It overlooks a lake. The breakfast was above average. The workers were friendly. Unfortunately, this hotel is farther away from most Halifax attractions, and parking is difficult.

Lake was pretty. Children had a lot of fun at the pool and arcade. The breakfast buffet was the best I've had at any hotel I’ve been too. The restaurants dinner service was excellent as well. We really enjoyed our stay and will consider staying here again if we’re ever in the area

Loved this Beat Western Plus!

As nice a Best Western Plus as we have stayed at. We were there recently as part of our day/night in Halifax. It backs on to chocolate lake with a wonderful outdoor patio for dining or even just drinks. There is a nice bar and grill inside as well. Breakfast was lovely, as were all the staff. Will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

This hotel feels like a quiet B&B in cottage country, but it’s in the middle of the city. We took breakfast on the sprawling patio which is overlooking the lake, admiring wildlife and people enjoying the beautiful day - swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding. Recommend for a feel good time.
