The staff member at the front desk was absolutely horrible, showed little compassion when we were there because a family member was in the hospital. We stayed there a few days earlier and were allowed to use a credit card from our family member, but during our second visit they said that was not allowed. They also told us to move our car, and the next morning all the same cars were still in the parking lot from the night before. The check-in was just awful and because of how upset we were and how long the check-in took, we didn’t get to sleep until late in the night (also the construction was loud, and the elevators were loud). We had a horrible sleep and our family member passed away. This hotel is in close proximity to the hospital and the staff should show a little compassion for guests, not everyone is there for a vacation, we had the most traumatic experience and we will never return to Hotel Halifax.

The only great thing about the hotel is that we had a room upgrade without asking. The room itself was your average, there was poor water pressure in our shower. When dining at the restaurant in the hotel, we witnessed mice running across the floor, multiple people coming and then leaving once they saw the mice, and staff did not seem too concerned when the issue was brought up. If we weren’t eating already, we would have left. The food was not the best either.
