I enjoyed the style of my unit and the vibe of the front lobby and decor throughout. I had a slight issue the first night, I was there. My concern was addresed, and when I came back for a second stay, two nights later, I had an updated room, which was a pleasant surprise 😀 Great staff...thank you!!

Excellent service, with an amazing main floor built for socializing, in a great walkable location. Only negative was the standard room was on the smaller side and lacked storage which isn't such a big deal for a weekend stay. Highly recommend for those looking to socialize in the city.

Hated access to parking, like with a passion. Loved the elevators, the food, the vibe the vibe overall. The fitness area was excellent, the staff were all up and asked us how we were doing and saw to it that our needs are met.

As someone who travels to Halifax frequently, I was so excited when I read about, and saw photos of, this new hotel. With prices that seemed to be lower than other hotels in the area and a fun, hip looking vibe, my partner and I booked here the moment that we saw it was available. All I can say is that it was a massive disappointment and that I will absolutely not be back. If you have the option to book elsewhere, I strongly encourage you to. This hotel is essentially a hostel, and it is tremendously over-priced in comparison to the slightly more expensive reputable hotel options downtown. Rooms are extremely small, beds are super uncomfortable, and there are no refrigerators available to guests. Many amenities that you would normally find in a room, such as ice buckets, are only found in a storage locker near the elevator on each level, assuming that the limited supplies are not all in use. There is a major air circulation problem at this property. I have never been so warm in a hotel room with the air conditioner on full-blast, in the middle of October. I am thankful that staff were able to bring us a fan after requesting one, but that only really made it tolerable. The bar in the lobby is a fun touch, but it doubles as the reception desk and the very busy bar (there is a DJ playing techno music on weekends and many non-guests are present) seems to be the priority; unfortunately, this too has an effect on the guest experience. Parking hard to access and $28/night.

This is a very understated hotel. There are no dressers to put clothing in, no closet, and no comfortable chairs. It looks like a prison cell. However, the lobby is lively and has some fun features.

It's a cross between vintage and new. If you're a generation Zed this place would be perfect for you but if you're a seasoned traveling businessman look for something else this will not do the trick. Rooms are very small no amenities and the dining room has limited menu and the food is horrible along with the s***** service. I've stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses that are superior to this place. I would not recommend this to anybody unless you're under the age of 21.

Pros: staff are lovely, everything is spotless, it's in a great area of the city (close to everything but not too busy), the rooms make excellent use of the space. Cons: for us, this hotel trends too young and boisterous. We know now who the Moxy brand seems to be catering to, and that's great because young carefree people are often a bit oppressed at traditional hotels. HOWEVER, if you don't like music playing outside the front doors until midnight (which may also be outside your room), if a DJ in the lobby isn't top on your list of priorities, and if you're not crazy about sharing your hotel with almost entirely 18-24 year olds, you might want to reconsider. But if this IS what you like, then the Moxy brand is a classy, clean and welcoming brand and you should absolutely go for it.

This property is a glorified hostel! Do not stay here if you're staying for business travel. The in-room desk and a basic fold-out chair is not comfortable at all. There's no closet to hang up your clothes. Room amenities are basic at best, and the fridge made loud noises all night. The front desk staff was nice but that was the only redeeming thing about this hotel. For the price (I paid $366 all in), there are certainly better options in Halifax, especially for work travel.
