The location is great for the visitor who wants to explore the food scene, harbourfront, and museums! We had the option of staying at higher-rated hotels further from downtown, and we're happy we went with the Barrington. I wouldn't stay here again if we had planned to stay mostly in the hotel to use the amenities and enjoy the room. The room and furnishing are dated, to the point where it was difficult to tell if it wasn't cleaned or just old. The hotel was great for what we needed it for, and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at the front desk.

The hotel is located in central Halifax and is within walking distance of the Harbour, restaurants and nightlife. It is an older property, and the elevators are not the fastest. The restaurant attached to the hotel on the ground floor is convenient although pricier than what I was expecting.

The hotel was awesome. The pool was a bit cold. And the sauna didnt work, but other than that, it is an amazing hotel. I would def stay here again. I just didn't care for parking at the parking garage. It felt too confined for me.

There were a few issues with our room. The floors were not clean. Everything in the room was old and very warn. One of the beds had a broken box spring. Bringing it to the attention of the hotel staff on checkout they didn't seem too concerned. After going back a second time to talk to staff they did seem to take our concerns seriously. That room should not have been given to us in the state it was in. I would look at other hotels before booking this one.

It wasn’t very clean and it looked like mold in the bathtub. Very outdated and was offered two queens as an upgrade from two doubles and still received two doubles but charged extra for the “upgrade”. Pedway closed early which was inconvenient also. Super strategic location, 4 minute walk from any point of interest. The hotel is old style but kept very well, very clean and functional. Breakfast is not included, but there is a restaurant downstairs with excellent selections and quality. Only watchout to highlight, the parking option is quite inconvenient, highly recommend to load and unload by the front entrance because the parking is not close.

The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are clean but dated. Our bed had a large wooden frame that stuck out and both of our two family members who visited our room struck the corner. I think my son in law broke his toe. The pool was also not very warm and very dirty looking.

I found the check in and check out process a bit difficult. I could not understand anything my check in person was saying to me, so I just guessed what I needed to do and how to navigate the hotel and also the walk to the parkade. On check out, I could not understand the staff members directions to pay for the parking. Again, I just had to guess what I was supposed to do. These procedures were not smooth. The furniture in my room was very run down looking. Not a pleasant look, but quite clean, except the carpet.
