construction was going on at the time so property was not great but they did the best for comfort and they advised us of that before we arrived. Very good location for sightseeing Halifax.

Check in was terrible and no parking
There was no parking. Even just to check in and drop off your bags. There was a 10 minute walk to the closest place you can park just to check in. Then after checking in you have to move your vehicle to a parkade a few blocks away. If you've got a lot of luggage prepare yourself for a hike and pack a lunch for the journey of just checking in to this hotel. Front end staff want very knowledgeable in local restaurants. I asked where a good place to eat was near by and she didn't know and started searching on the internet for us. I told her nevermind, i can do that myself.

Construction all around the hotel prevented us from dropping off our luggage before we parked the car. It was a long walk from the parking. If we knew this in advance, we would have chosen another hotel. You mention VIP access. I don’t know what you are referring to. No service at all at the hotel. Tempo Cafe was good for breakfast, the staff was friendly and service oriented.

If I could give this hotel a zero I would. From the moment we got there it was an absolutely horrible. After trying to check in early (I emailed and called ahead of time with no response) they said that they were going through a management change and their credit card terminals were down, so I asked about the free parking after getting an email that said parking was $25 (Expedia said free) and she confirmed after a little while that yes we did have free parking, but it was located almost a kilometre walk away with staircases escalators and a mall you had to walk-through. With accessibility issues I would’ve never chosen a hotel that states that it is accessible friendly when in fact, it is not. Even the loading zone for where your bags go. You still need to go up and down multiple flights of stairs. Once the 3pm check-in finally came around they said the terminals was still down, but they would take my credit card information by writing it down on a piece of paper at the front desk and no upgrade available for VIP. On our second day of being here the toilet was not flushing properly so we let it settle and then we asked the person to come up to see it now this was pretty late in the night. They came up after describing it needed a plunger without a plunger, and proceeded to flush the handle multiple times and overflow the toilet onto the bathroom. We were moved at 1am to a room with two double beds, manger Rob was nice but all other staff were extremely rude/unhelpful

Great location!
Great reception staff. The receptionist kindly allocated me great room with a view looking uphill to the Citadel. So helpful and efficient. Hotel is perfectly located for downtown Halifax.
