Location was ideal, however 12 minute walk to our car was terribly inconvenient. And cleaning every three days was also a first. Prior to covid most establishments cleaned the room daily, then covid was used to keep the cleaners out and now covid losses are keeping the room tidiers at bay. It’s noticeable

The guest room was dated, I was surprised to find the furniture, wall coverings and carpeting to be dated back to around the 80s and $400 seemed overly expensive, even with the closeness to amenities in downtown Halifax. The bathtub also filled quickly with water to over an inch while showering, although there didn’t seem to be any clog near the opening of the drain. Maybe the bathtub drain needs to be snaked out or another method. I am also taken aback by the inability for the hotel to validate / pay overnight parking at the scotia square parkade, which is the closest available parking. I’d expect parking for the price of staying at the hotel and the almost kilometre walk to the hotel from the parkade, it would be a nice gesture to the parking to be validated/paid by the hotel as a goodwill gesture for the road construction circumstance, and if I were the hotel management/owners I would have requested HRM to reimburse the hotel as part of their budgeted construction costs. Spend some money updating the furniture and decor, wall coverings and drapes, it would take your rooms to another level, one worth paying for.

I liked that we were near the boardwalk, transit station, restaurants, hotel restaurant, staff was helpful with transit questions and change for the transit. The hotel restaurant was good. What I didn’t like was that there was no fridge in the room which was advertised. And the room we were in had no view- just a courtyard that was concrete. And the air conditioner was a little hard to regulate. Overall I would go back and stay!

Overall fine hotel.

Hard hotel to get into, from parking in front, to even entering the doors and then to a negative front desk person. Once we got over the initial introduction the hotel was fine. Halifax is a great town and the hotel is close to the waterfront with lots of interesting walks etc.,. Street parking is relatively easy.

Stayed here for a week. Loved that everything was walkable and that it was in a safe location. The property is clean and well maintained despite being older. The staff were friendly and helpful. Disliked the infrequency of the maid service—I don't expect them to make my bed and clean daily, but it would have been great to have wet towels picked up daily and fresh towels put in my room daily. My biggest complaint: the mattress in my room was not great. If I got too close to the middle, I'd roll down a slight slope to the flatter other side. Overall though, it was great for the price!

Not my favourite. The desk staff looked miserable and acted like helping my family was beneath them. The pool was cold, the rooms were ancient and the walls were thin.
