Truly the greatest stop of our journey through the Alps this summer. We were torn whether to stay outside the city center at one of the other communities around Hallstatt but in the end we took the plunge and stayed at Heritage and it didn’t disappoint. We were able to amble through its quiet streets at night amidst the drizzle and rain and it was perfect. Throw in a good meal at the restaurant there when the other places in town were closed or fully booked and I’d go back again and again if I could. What a magical place Hallstatt is and what a way to complement it by the hotel.

Great stay with an amazing view and nice room

We were upgraded to a suite, but it was located in a different building. A bellhop placed our luggage in a motorized carrier, and we hoofed it up to the site with his guidance. This might have been a tough climb for some folks, but we didn't have any trouble and the view/room were amazing. Both breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant were delicious.

The balcony rooms are small but nice. NO AIRCONDITIONING and the window was left open on a hot day when we arrived. Hard to cool off the room to sleep. The front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. The breakfast and dinner overlooking the lake was great.

I recently stayed at the Heritage Hotel Hallstatt with my daughter during a trip across Europe. We stayed in one of the lake view rooms that had it's own balcony and two chairs. We were very pleased with our room and the view. Unfortunately, our stay was during a heatwave across Europe, and like many other hotel rooms we got, this did not have air conditioning. Public parking for the room is 1.4 miles away and a shuttle bus got us within maybe 1000ft of our hotel. The staff were friendly and the included breakfast was good.

This older hotel was very pleasant but certainly not fancy. Breakfast was nice. Our room overlooked the lake but also the parking lot (they all do). You have to park at the far end of the town and take a shuttle. Hallstatt is very crowded of course. Look into staying just outside the village in the direction of Obertraun. Looked like some nice much quieter options there.

The view of the lake was magnificent. The views and heritage homes were wonderful. The amount of day tourists were alarming, and the fact the way they behaved. As for the room itself, it was great. My only two issues were that the shower could not be properly adjusted and would always spray out onto the floor. And it was very hot without air conditioning. A fan was provided which helped a little.

Great location in the centre and near the boat ferry that travels to and from the train station. My room was large and comfortable. Very quiet. The staff was amazing and were very helpful to me on several occasions.

We loved our room overlooking Lake Hallstatt. It was so convenient to the ferry( like outside their door). The breakfasts were delicious and so many choices. It was quiet.

The hotel is just a few steps from the ferry, which made it really convenient and easy to find. The location is excellent—close to everything, and very easy to get around. The room itself was quite good—clean and comfortable. However, for the price, it is on the expensive side compared to other nearby options. Check-in was okay, but I didn’t feel especially welcomed by the front desk staff. They weren’t particularly friendly, but perhaps that’s just their natural style. It wasn’t a bad experience—just not what I’d expect from a hotel at this price point. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if location is your top priority.
