Overall we were disappointed with this hotel. We expected more from a place with “palace” in its name. It felt old and run down. While the staff were generally good, The room itself was small, the bed was uncomfortable, the towels were dingy and the complimentary breakfast was very basic. We did like the location - walkable to many sights and good restaurants and spas in Hanoi. I would not choose this hotel again.

For me, a hotel is about more than just the anaesthetics, is about the vibe, the staff, the environment and most importantly, how comfortable I feel in the space. This place has it all. From the moment we arrived, to when we left, we felt at home. The staff generally care and go above and beyond to ensure you’re well looked after. Special mention to Jimmi, Jennie, Suly.. who were standout staff for me. Although, there were many more that were also so kind and lovely - just sorry that I have not remembered their name’s. The rooms are typical for Hanoi hotels and well decorated with good amenities. They also had good soundproofing, so we were able to get a good nights sleep, with the noise of Hanois street playing havoc with our ears. The in room fridge was great for any extra food or drink we brought back and the drinks on offer, were reasonable for hotel. The breakfast here is the best that I’ve experienced in Vietnam and I would even go as far to say in the top five of any hotel I’ve stayed at. The staff were even kind enough to pack us a breakfast pack for our early departure to Halong Bay. Royal Palace Hotel, thank you for a memorable 3-night stay and I would not hesitate in recommending or returning again.

Royal Palace is an excellent hotel, they took us last minute when our train to Sapa was cancelled due to weather. The staff was incredibly Jimmi was so nice, gave us great recommendations and booked an incredibly fun private tour of Ninh Binh. The rooms are large and very nice, and the location is phenomenal. The breakfast is so good, this spot is a must stay in Hanoi for location, hospitality and everything!

We had an incredible experience during our stay! The staff went above and beyond, helping us organize our trips to Ha Long Bay and Hoi An, making everything smooth and stress-free. Very nice boutique hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi. Excellent location from where you can easily walk to the water puppets Theater, train street and shopping districts and street food. Hotel does a very good airport pick up private car service which is cheaper than the taxi.

Great location

What a great location if you want to be able to walk to all the tourist attractions in Hanoi old town area. It can get noisy from traffic but was OK after 11:09pm. We loved our stay there. The elevator is different being on 1/2 floor levels so if you have a walking condition that is not good with stairs it may not be the one for you.

I've never stayed in the old quarter before. And I won't again. I travelled with a 3 year old and my wife. Sleeping in this hotel is nearly impossible. The noise from the streets is so extreme. The bed is very hard and uncomfortable. The staff is amazing, the breakfast was good for the food you can get anywhere around there. I hope you enjoy noodle soup and cigarette smoke. I saw staff smoking in the kitchen while preparing breakfast multiple time. Smoking is everywhere on the streets. Overall I have it 3 stars only because the staff was very helpful and kind. But for the room and noise 1 star.
