Apart from the bad shape of the room (rusted plumbing, exposed plaster and ripped wallpaper), the bad Internet was certainly the issue. We couldn’t even watch a movie with our tablet because the connection was so bad.

So so experience
Overall, the stay was okay, but not great. One of our days/nights there, nobody came in to clean the room and make the beds and our garbage was full. Another night, we wanted to go in the pool, but they closed it an hour early and we were not able to take advantage of this during our stay. Folks at the desk put my rewards points for the stay on a whole new account, instead of my current, active account. After I got home, I had to call to have this new account merged into the existing rewards account, which I should not have had to do.

The hotel advertised a hot tub, which was drained and covered with plywood; obviously not a recent issue. They should not continue to say they have a hot tub if it is permanently out-of-order. There was black mold on the ceiling about our bathtub, and when the people staying in the room above our room took a shower, water leaked into our bathroom. Something that severe should NOT be allowed in ANY hotel!!

Pool closes early without warning, and in our room there was water damage on the ceiling, fixtures falling out of the ceiling, water damage in the bathroom, and a tv you couldn't watch comfortably from either the bed OR the couch. And while our room was marked as an accessible room, one single bar in the bathroom by the shower and wider doorways really doesn't make a room all that accessable for someone more disabled than me. The place is also extremely understaffed and there was almost never someone at the front desk, and what staff they did have was incredibly rude. Very disappointing stay.

I want to be clear. The staff here were all extremely friendly and polite. This is not a commentary on the employees or managers. We pulled in after a long day of driving and just needed a place to stay for the evening. This place is clearly intended as a value option for those traveling to Hershey Park, and that is fine. The issue stems from the extremely old and uncomfortable bedding in the rooms. The pillows were all flat and worn out and you can hear the springs creaking as you lay in the bed. Around 3 a.m. I woke up with severe lower back pain that kept my back and neck stiff for the next day. My wife and kids also mentioned having poor sleep. If you are traveling to HP on a tight budget, this will get the job done for you. The breakfast area was filled with families and excited kids, so it could have just been our room, but if you have neck or back issues, you will likely be uncomfortable all night.
