Liked: Staff & service
First off, the address took me to a building two doors down the street and it's on a very busy road so that was annoying. The whole place seems a little rundown and in need of some deep cleaning and remodeling. However, the room was comfortable and spacious, but the hallways were very narrow and a bit of a maze. I would look for another option in the future.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hotel is ideally placed for getting out into the dales and surrounding area. Walk into town is less than 10 minutes. Parking is free so a bonus. On the downside, my room was very dated and there was a smokey smell in the room, despite leaving the window open, (I bought a plug in air freshener in the end to mask the smell - not ideal). Room decor needs to be refreshed, chips in gloss work, carpet worn in places. Bathroom was beautifully clean can't fault that, however mould on the tiles around the bath/shower. Again a refresh of the grouting would make a huge difference. Just generally a little run down which is a shame. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and piping hot.
Grand, beautiful building with attentive staff. Room was cosy, spotless and had a great view over Harrogate. Bar was great to spend a couple of hours chatting in the evening and breakfast was extensive. Lovely one night stay.
Room was very dated, reported a water leak or something wrong with toilet on the Sunday evening and nobody ever turned up so for 2 nights had very bad sleep.
WiFi was a joke even the premium which did not work at all in the room and very poor in the bar area.
Lifts were slow, decor very dated and food was extremely poor.
The hotel is close to Harrogate town centre. Easily walkable. Quiet.

Overnighter at the cheapest hotel on offer in Harrogate.
I now know why it was cheap, it is in dire need of some modernisation. It's a lovely old building, probably was quite the place to be in the 1950s or 1960s and its nit had much work done to it since.
The carpet next to the bed was worn out, the shower was maybe 1980/90 but worked fine. The furniture looked like something from my childhood! Having said that, it was clean and bed was comfy enough.
Not sure I'll be back though, unless it has a few million spent on it in the next few years.
The property is very dated
Our room carpet needed a good clean (lets be honest replacing), the bath and sink needs replacing. Beds nice and comfortable and the breakfast was good
Could be a fantastic hotel, needs a lot of TLC & updating. Sadly the rooms & public areas are tired and neglected. Damp, musky smell hits as you walk through the doors & stays with you everywhere you go. In a competitive town like Harrogate, its needs to do something to keep up with the other hotels. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.
