I have never been to a Marriott property that was so poorly run and maintained. I had a late flight and it took forever for me to check in because their payment system was down. Then I finally got to my room and it was dirty and smelly, bed unmade, dirty towels everywhere, and I had to go all the way back to the lobby for a new room, which again took forever to sort out. The person at the desk was apologetic, and said they would talk to the manager, but I never heard more about it. When I ordered room service for breakfast, they didn’t bring me silverware, and I had to call the desk again and wait for them to bring it. The hotel itself seems run down, dirty carpet, dirty walls, peeling wallpaper…

Subject: Complaint Regarding Recent Stay at Marriott Hartford/Windsor Airport – Expedia itinerary confirmation number 73146506100801 Dear Marriott Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Mariott Hartford Windsor Hotel which took place from Thursday June 26 to Monday June 30. My Expedia confirmation number for this stay is 73146506100801 I am writing to express my absolute outrage and deep disappointment following a horrifying experience at your Marriott property located at 28 Day Hill Road, Windsor, CT. I checked in during the early hours of the morning—approximately 1:00 a.m.—only to find the hotel in complete darkness, with no power, no lighting, no WiFi, and no working electrical outlets. This was not only unacceptable—it was unsafe and outright dangerous. I was forced to shower using the flashlight on my phone, and despite being a paying guest, I could not charge my phone or access WiFi until the following evening. The situation escalated when I attempted to leave the room: the entire corridor and elevator area were pitch black. I had to carry my young child and our luggage down six flights of stairs in total darkness. That is an extreme safety hazard and a complete failure of basic hospitality and duty of care. Let me be very clear: This experience was traumatizing, unsafe, and unfit for any guest, much less a parent traveling with a child.
