Unfortunately the room we had booked had not been cleaned since the previous guests had left, so we arrived to an unmade and dirty room.
The member of staff who was helping us was quite helpful and did get the room cleaned for us but it was done very quickly.
The room was small but neat, but it had a very bad smell of damp probably because there is no extractor fan in the small bathroom area of the room.
This really needs to be rectified as it is not good for guests to be breathing in dampness.
Very pretty village it is in and very nice inside. Would suggest more staff are required here as busy with drinks, food and rooms. It would really benefit this place if they offered breakfast to guests in the morning at a reasonable rate as I’m sure it would be appreciated especially on weekends!
Parking for about two cars so street parking is needed here and on very narrow country roads.
Nice place for a one night stay. Would have liked to try the food there but very busy and could not wait as had a prior engagement to get to.
Great for a short stay. Lovely pub with dining options as well

Ask for the wifi code before the team leave!!
Parked directly outside. Room fine. Accommodation could not find booking but did then locate it. Team left immediately after checking in.There was no wifi login provided, no mobile signal and no telephone signal at the location. Drove 2 miles up the road to get signal, called and emailed for the wifi code - no answer. Was left as sole occupant on the premises with no way to contact anyone without driving offsite.
Room was clean but no wardrobe and bathroom room was along corridor also church clock chiming all night did not help next time will have a room at rear of house away from road noise and the clock.
Other wise all good for convenience and a good bar.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
The hotel was welcoming, clean and more than adequate for our short stay.
Booked this accommodation for a 3 night stay, combining a work trip with a weekend in the area. The photos of the accommodation on the website are a little misleading, and the room I booked was advertised as a large room. It was actually very small with no desk / seating space and very limited space to hang clothing. On first glance it was quite clean, however there was a stain on the carpet and some damp / mould in the bathroom. The facilities were very basic in the room. The booking was confirmed as including breakfast. The pub stopped serving breakfast about 2 years ago.
The pub itself was nice, we had a meal there one evening and the food was good. The bar staff were friendly. There was no servicing of the room during the stay. I did actually have to buy toilet roll.
The bed was comfortable, and the noise complained about in other reviews was not a concern for us.
The accommodation was functional. I don’t think I would book again, but do want to single out for praise the friendly bar staff.

Only two very flimsy bath towels and no hand towels. Green emergency exit light on in the room all night made the room too bright for sleeping. Aldo only a blind at the window and no curtains which added to the brightness.
Beautiful building in a good location but terribly run down, mould in shower, freezing room, no extra blankets or pillows, mouldy milk, broken pane of glass in window.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
I liked the location and character of the property. The owner also fitted me in for an extra night when I arrived a day early due to travel changes because of bad weather. If you book a room here though, I suggest you call the hotel to agree what room you will get ...
When I arrived, I was given an en suite room (the room in the photo that I thought I had booked) but he said I had to change room for the other 2 nights because someone else had booked that room. I booked an en suite room (so I thought according to the details in the listing). But I had to stay in a room with a bathroom elsewhere (a private bathroom but down the hallway and round the corner. Inconvenient when you need the bathroom in the night).
Despite this, the owner still expected me to pay the same price as for an ensuite roo
When we arrived the roads were busy but got a parking space so was good as there is free parking just walking distance from The Whitehorse inn, the rooms were clean but needed a bit of TLC in my opinion other than that it was comfortable and a beautiful place to stay, the owner was awesome and the staff were great, with a friendly atmosphere.. 😊
